CHAPTER 9: RESULTS AND VICTORIES

NO ONE'S POV

Sa nakaraang isang linggo, walang ibang ginawa sina Aspen at Gwen kundi mag-aral. Ngayon na mag-reretake ng quiz si Aspen.

GWEN MARIE BELERION'S POV

Five minutes na kaming naghihintay ng mga kaibigan ko with Zionne, Sky and Kaizer sa labas ng classroom ni Ma'am Gomez.

"Gwen,pwede ba? Umupo ka nga muna. Kanina ka pa paikot-ikot jan". Julia said, irritated.

"Julia, pwede ba. I can't sit down not knowing whether or not na nakapasa si Aspen. Paano kung bagsak siya and nauwi sa wala yung pinaghirapan namin? Paano kung--" 

I was cut off by the sound of the door opening. "Gwen, gusto ka rin daw kausapin ni Ma'am Gomez" Aspen said. Hesitantly, I went in with him inside.

Ma'am Gomez was sitting at her desk, reading her book. When she saw us enter, she looked at us and smiled. Then she gestured to the armchairs in front of her.

Once we sat down, Aspen asked, "Ma'am, um...... ilan po ba yung score ko?" Ma'am Gomez laughed and said, "Patience is a virtue, Mr. Takishima. Anyway, your score is 27/30. Congratulations!" "Thank you po Ma'am!" We both said in unison.

Then I asked, "Excuse me, Ma'am, pero bakit po ako nandito?" "I was just gonna ask you which do you prefer: Excempted ka sa next quiz mo, or +10 ka sa performance mo per grading pero tutor ka ni Aspen for the entire school year?" Ma'am Gomez proposed.

I thought about it for awhile, If I accept the first option excempted nga ako, pero quiz is a component of written works, and 30% lang yun. Pag yung 2nd option, +10 ako every grading period sa performance, which is 50% ng grade ko. And all I have to do is tutor Aspen.

After few minutes, I made up my mind. "Ma'am Gomez, yung second option na lang po ang pipiliin ko.", I said without hesitation.

Ma'am Gomez smiled and said, "Excellent choice, Ms. Belserion." She looked at her watch, "Well, I need to go to my next class. Congratulations and see you in class" Then she left the room.

Once we were alone, Aspen hugged me. And then whispered in my ear, "Thank you Gwen. Dahil sa iyo, nakapasa ako sa quiz" I hugged him back. 

We stayed like that for a few minutes. Then out of nowhere, Avianna cleared her throat and interrupted us. Both Aspen and I blushed 50 shades of strawberry red. 

Then I whispered, "Why don't we just go back to our seats and pretend that didn't happen?" Aspen nodded and we went back to our seats just in time for Ma'am Zamora's class.
