KIMBERLY
"Oh, this is my girlfriend, Cate," Pierre pushes the brunette slightly towards me as she sticks her hand and I shake it.
"Nice to meet you," She smiles and I nod.
"Same here, by the way, I'm Kimberly," I smile back.
"And I'm Tyler," My friend introduces himself to her.
"Please, is there any place to eat here?" I whine as I'm still starving.
"Of course, anything for the birthday girl," Alex smiles, he is so nice, if he was just my type.
"It's not my birthday yet," I state as we start walking, or well, I start following them.
"When is it exactly?" Alex asks walking by my side.
"It's on Sunday," I respond.
"Well, what do you want for a present?" He wonders and I deny with my head.
"Not a single thing," I speak and he chuckles.
"I will ask Tyler, don't worry," He winks at me and hurries his step to walk beside Tyler, I see they start talking while glancing at me, which makes me roll my eyes.
Once we reach a lounge, that literally screams Red Bull, I find Max with my eyes.
"Look who made it," He smiles walking towards us.
"Sadly," I add sarcastically gaining a smack from Tyler. "Ouch," I claim.
"Be grateful," He whispers and I frown.
"Excuse me? If it wasn't for me, we wouldn't even be here," I state annoyed.
"Okay, too many hours together you two, separate each other's from everyone else's sake," Pierre interrupts us.
"Fine, I'll go with Alex," Tyler speaks quickly and starts walking away, a confused Alex follows him closely.
"So, where is Daniel?" I wonder while staring at Max and Pierre.
"At his paddock," Max shrugs and I just nod in response.
"So, food?" I ask Pierre who just giggles.
"Max, take the girl to the restaurant," Pierre orders as Max sighs.
"I can go by myself," I declare annoyed at his attitude. "Just tell me where is it,"
"No, you'll probably get lost," Pierre insists.
"Fine," Max groans. "Follow me," He starts walking and like a lost puppy I follow him.
After walking through different doors and stairs, we finally reach what looks like a school cafeteria, where you stand up with your plate and tell the workers what do you want them to put on your plate.
"Help yourself," Max points to the plates and disappears under my attentive eyes, I see him walking to a table and sitting down, then he just starts using his phone.
I focus my attention on the food and start asking the middle-aged woman what I want to eat. Since I'm basically vegetarian, I grab all the vegetables possibles and then make my way towards Max, and take a seat in front of him.
"Aren't you going to eat?" I ask him and he denies with his head not taking his eyes off the screen. "Do you know where can I get something to drink?" I ask again and he finally looks up to me.
Without a word he just gets up and leaves. A few minutes later he is back holding a Red Bull.
"I'm not drinking that," I say frowning.
"Why?" He asks confused.
"Because it has bull's sperm," I state and he erupts laughing. "Hey, I'm being fucking serious," I add annoyed and he starts mimicking me.
"You are crazy,"
"No, I'm right, which is particularly different," I respond as I eat my vegetables.
"Then die of thirst," He shrugs and I decide not to respond as he takes his phone once again.
Once I'm done with my salad and eating in silence I stare into the nothingness, pretty bored.
"Can we leave now?" He claps his fingers in front of my eyes making me flinch.
"Oh, I'm sorry, are we here together?" I ironically ask while getting up and proceeding to clean the table.
"What is up with that attitude?" He asks and I turn around at him frustrated.
"You've got to be shitting me," I reply and he looks at me confused. "Shouldn't you be practicing instead of being in front of me?" I question him and he chuckles.
"I don't need that," He responds as I raise my brows.
"Now, the truth," I put a hand on my hip.
"Fine, I didn't do so well but still, I'm winning on Sunday," He winks confidently, which completely annoys.
"I really hope Lewis wins now," I state and turn around to find Pierre or Tyler, or just anyone than him.
"Why are you running? Do I make you feel nervous?" He asks wiggling his eyebrows while standing in front of me, blocking my pace, I look at him disgusted.
"You damn well wish, Max," I deny with my head.
"Oh, c'mon," He takes a step closer making his face only being inches away from mine. "Don't lie to yourself, doll,"
"You're so cringy, get the hell out of my face," I snap frustrated while I push his chest and he responds with a laugh. "You are trying to be so cliche, it is annoying," I keep my rant going until his hand grabs my arm turning me around again, making me hit his chest.
"Let's have a deal," He suggests and I raise my brows. "If I win the race, you have to do anything I say, for the rest of the day,"
"No way," I deny. "It's my birthday on Sunday, I won't spend it on you," I spat.
"That is basically the point, or wait, are you actually scared that I will win the race?" He asks challenging me.
"No, you won't," I insist.
"Then, what is the problem? If according to you I will lose, that means that I will do whatever you want on your birthday," He shrugs and he has a point.
"Fine," I say a few seconds later. "It's a deal," I stick my hand and he shakes it.
"Get ready, because you just lost a bet," He smirks making me fume in anger, how is he so damn confident.
"You get ready," I fight back. "Because, sweetie," I remark the last word. "You are spending your money on me, on Sunday," I wink but my confidence is not and will not ever be as great as his, so I just get a chuckle in response which makes me even angrier.
