"would you like to order already, ma'am?"

you raised your head and looked at the waitress giving you the menu. for the nth time, you gave out an apologetic smile and rejected her offer. she looked at you with pity and nodded, before leaving you alone.

you sighed and looked at your phone, checking if he sent you any message telling you about his whereabouts. as you scroll on your phone, you can feel everyone's stares looking at you with pity, as they talk about how unfortunate you are.

you looked at the time. he's already two hours late. you feel so pathetic already. you sent a message to him telling him that you're leaving. you placed your phone and wallet in your bag and prepared yourself to leave.

"sorry for being so late, baby. traffic is really crazy." you sat back down when someone with good looking features and dark brown hair sat in front of you.

he leaned closer and whispered. "i'm sunwoo. i'm here to save you so, can you play along?" he smiled and called the waitress.

you watched him order food and surprisingly, his taste in food is similar to yours. he looked at you once the waitress left. "don't worry, i'm paying for all of it."

"oh no! we can split the bill, or i can pay for it myself completely! consider this as my token of gratitude." you said as you open your bag and pull out your wallet.

he placed his hand in your wallet and forcefully returned it to your bag. "a lady shouldn't pay, especially after what she had experienced tonight."

you smiled weakly at him. "thank you."

"don't fret about it." he returned the gesture. "whoever didn't bother to show up is a douche."

the rest of the night went well, contrary to what you were expecting. sunwoo is being so sweet and funny, and every now and then you shed a tear or two because of happiness. you forgot everything that's been bothering you as of that moment and just listened to everything sunwoo said.

like what he promised, he paid for the bill and asked for your number, which you gladly give, for he was one heck of a great company.

"thank you for being my savior today." you told him once you both stepped outside the restaurant. "i probably would have broke down at home if you didn't intervene."

"no worries." he smiled. "i hope next time our date will be planned and not just an accident. that is, if you agree on going out with me once again."
