sunwoo always knows himself as a strong person, a person who will not cry and be affected by things easily.

but why can't he stop crying right now? is it because about the fact that people wants him to die? is it because people keep telling him he's worthless and a failure? or is it because sunwoo knows that all of the things they said are true, no matter how much he denies them?

he's been receiving hateful letters eversince he and haknyeon become a thing. receiving them everyday is nothing new to him, he's used to it already, but just because sunwoo is used to receiving hateful letters doesn't mean that he is not affected by them. he's also a human being, a person that is hurt by the never-ending messages about him being worthless.

sunwoo raised his head only to see an opened letter in front him.

"what did haknyeon even sees in you?"

there are times when sunwoo thinks of ending the relationship with haknyeon. he doesn't deserve his love anyway. who even is he? he's just a friendless troublemaker with no future ahead of him while haknyeon is the school's social butterfly that is loved by every boy and girl. they're not a perfect match. what haknyeon saw in him that made him love him, he doesn't know.

"sun! there you are! i've been looking everywhere for you." sunwoo felt a pair of arms embrace him. he felt the familiar feeling of warmth and comfort.

"why are you even here— wait, are you crying?" haknyeon asked him, but sunwoo didn't respond. he tried stopping his tears so he can tell haknyeon that he didn't cry, but he failed. he looked at haknyeon with bloodshot eyes and nodded.

gone was sunwoo's brave face that he always shows him. what haknyeon is seeing right now is a very vulnerable boy that needs someone by his side.

"are they still not stopping?" haknyeon furrowed his eyebrows. "i really need to tell them to stop again."

haknyeon stood up but sunwoo stopped him by grabbing his hand. "no, don't. sit down. i have something to tell you."

even though he's confused, haknyeon followed sunwoo and sat in front of him in the empty classroom.

"i think we should break up." sunwoo started, tears still flowing. "they're right, haknyeon. i'm worthless and useless. i should just die so that i won't bother you anymore. you deserve someone better than me. you don't deserve to be with a nobody with no future ahead of him—"

sunwoo's words were cut off when haknyeon slapped him. he looked at him in shock, only to see haknyeon's face also being filled with tears.

"how can you even say things like that? i deserve someone better? well news flash, sunwoo, that 'someone better' is you! why are you even affected by what they say? you're not useless, you're not worthless, you're not a failure. everything they say are not true. so stop talking about things like that, okay?"

haknyeon hugged him and this time, sunwoo hugged him back.

"what they all say about you are lies. you're smart, kind, funny, handsome, and talanted! you also make me feel loved and happy. where's the 'worthless' in that?"

for the first time that day, sunwoo smiled. he scolded himself for even thinking of such horrible things and making haknyeon cry.

even though there's still pain in his heart, sunwoo knows that it will soon go away because haknyeon is there with him, and sunwoo knows that haknyeon is enough reason for him to keep on going. because haknyeon always makes him feel happy and loved. haknyeon always makes him feel special.
