We start to take a walk into the woods, I walk next to Greg. We are mostly silent until in nearly fall over. He grabs me by the waist and helps me stand straight again
"Thanks" I say
"No problem beautiful" he says winking making me laugh "So how long have you been making music?" He asks
"Ever since I can remember, my mother always said that music was in my blood" I say
"That's really cool" he says
"Yeah" I say back, I was about to say something more but I was interrupted by Kurt
"Hey Greg. When we were kids, your dad used to talk us into doing the craziest stuff. Yeah I remember one time we got our shower curtains, put them in shopping carts and when went shopping cart sailing" Kurt says
"Wait, how did you steer?" Andre asks
"Well we didn't" Eric says
"How did you stop?" Keith asks
"You just smashed into something, that was the fun part" Lenny says
"We used to shoot bottle rockets at each other, you always go for the guys face because you wanna blind him" my dad says
"Okay that's a little much pal" Lenny says
"No, no I know. Kids don't do that" my dad says backpedaling "you know what, erase. Reboot" he then says
"Okay look, look. Make a tree fort, I'll get you started" Lenny says
"Rob lived in one of those for a year" Eric says
"Why?" Greg and I both ask
"My dad took away my roller skates" Rob says
"Uh oh Vietnam flashback" my dad says
"Good one dad!" I say giving him a high five
"Wait a minute, are you kidding me?" Lenny asks making everybody say "what?"
"Rope on a tree baby, you know what that means" Eric says
"We get to hang ourselves?" Charlotte asks
"Are you kidding me? You see a rope and a lake and that doesn't make you wanna go nuts?" Lenny asks
"It makes me- you know what? Let me show them" Eric says
"Dude, get up on the top rock" my dad says
"Yeah you're right" Eric says and then climbs up onto the top rock
"The class is in session" he says before swinging down "to high!" He shouts and doesn't let go, we all shout at him to drop but he doesn't. He swings into a tree and fall down, I hide my face between Greg's neck and shoulder since I don't want to see this.
"That was amazing" Keith says making me look back up and see Eric laying at the bottom
"Oh god my leg snapped" Eric screams making me hide my face again "oh my god, the bone's sticking out. I need help!" Eric screams
"It's a stick! I got you!" He says making the adults laugh
"Daddy that bird is hurt" Becky says pointing at a bird
"Oh my god! I'll go get a shoebox" Lenny says running towards the house
"Here you go, hey did you really land on that bird man?" My dad asks Eric
"I'm not sure, I did hear a chirp and then a crunch like noise but that could've been anything" Eric says, we all walk back to the lake house and get ready for dinner
