1. What is your favorite genre while writing books?

My favorite genres vary. At the moment, I’m enjoying writing romance. (Shameless plug for my Country Music Short Stories ;) ) I’ve also done a lot with teen fiction and general fiction. In the past, I’ve really loved writing creative non-fiction, though I haven’t posted any of it on my wattpad account. I like it because it’s more real and dear to me.

2. Would you say your chapters are long or short?

My chapters are generally on the shorter side. I tend to write little pieces at a time, and I don’t like leaving my readers hanging for a while, so I end up posting smaller chapters more frequently.

3. Do you update your books often?

Define “often”… I aim to upload them every week, but usually I get a bit behind schedule.

4. What is your favorite type of music?

Country music! If you can’t tell by me writing books based on country songs. I will listen to almost any type of music, but my favorites are country and older pop songs (not oldies, but songs that are around 5-10 years old- current pop songs have a bit too much rap for me).

5. If you could meet anybody from any book you ever read, who would that person be, and what are they like?

Any Tamora Pierce fans? I love that author! Some of my favorite characters from her books are Alanna (“Song of the Lioness”), Keladry of Mindelan (the “Protector of the Small” series), and Beka Cooper (“Provost’s Dog” trilogy). These women are super smart and super tough. Seriously hard-core. I love those books… man, now I want to re-read them again.

6. What would you say is your everyday style?

T-shirts and jeans! I like the everyday casual style, though just like any other person, I occasionally like to dress up a bit. Today I’m wearing a pair of my favorite jeans and my mole day shirt! (It is October 23rd, which is 10-23, similar to 6.02x10^23, the number of stuff in a mole. Yes, I’m a huge geek; it’s great!)

7. How did you find Wattpad in the first place?

I started out as a lurker and read some really good books (a lot of them are now published, as it’s been three or four years since I started out on this site). I got hooked on the site, and then started to post some of my musings. Recently, I have started writing a lot more.

8. Do you do anything else on wattpad other than writing? Like covers and banners?

I make my own covers – I really love art. A lot of the images are my own, though some are public domain, and all have been Photoshopped. I have done a couple covers for others, though I haven’t done many – though if anyone’s interested, feel free to contact me! In addition to covers, I’ll take requests to read books and give feedbacks. And of course, I’ve entered writing contests, most of them being short story writing prompt challenges, which are really fun! This year I am going to participate in NaNoWriMo for the first time. I have a couple different story ideas for that and will be starting my book soon!

9. Have you ever took time and became a co-writer?

I would love to co-write, but I haven’t done it. In the past, I’ve been really busy and my uploading schedule was really irregular. Now that I have a little more time, I am considering co-writing.

10. If you didn't feel like answering all these questions just to get an interview, would you have told me?

If I didn’t want to answer questions, why would I ask you for an interview? I take commitments seriously. If you don’t value them, you can never get anywhere. One of my pet peeves is when people say they’ll do something, and then don’t. (Seriously, don’t be that person.)

Anything Extra?:

I have a couple mottos that I think are important to who I am:

a) If you can’t be happy being yourself, you can’t be happy. If you can’t be comfortable with yourself where you are, find a new place to be.

b) Hard work pays off. (Corollary: “Take everything in moderation, including moderation.” – Oscar Wilde)

c) This too shall pass. Take a step back. Sometimes things aren’t as serious as you think they are, and a lot of times you worry more than you need. Sometimes you have to just keep going through the hard times, even though it isn’t easy.

Quote from “Between Logan and Jamie” (by @Immlaaarr and @amandarose) that I love: “We’re just going through obstacles in life. Everything is an obstacle, even if it isn’t difficult, or if it’s happiness it’s still not easy because it’s life… Everything is an obstacle, we just have to keep going because if you stop, you fall, and then the next obstacle is to get up and keep going but you can’t stop until it ends. It’s a cycle that will be everything in your life.”

d) With that said, enjoy the small things in life. They’re what make life worth living.

e) “You are awesomesauce.” (This is a quote from my friend that has stuck with me.)
