Sprained Ankle

》Zoey《

It has been a month since Axel's ankle has healed and River returned to her apartment.

But they had been hanging out every day after that and they became close friends.

River had also started doing more covers with Axel and maybe because of her, both their  popularity had risen on YouTube.

"So, are you hooking up with Axel already?" Zoey, River's roommate, asked.

River threw a pillow at her. "No. He's just a friend, Zoey."

"Yeah. 'Friend'." Zoey replied, putting air quotes around the word 'friend'.

River raised an eyebrow at her. "It's very obvious you two have some chemistry going on. And trust me, I've seen the way that boy looks at you."

River blushed at her statement. "Okay. Fine. Maybe, I have a teensy, tiny little crush on him."

Zoey looked overwhelmed. "My baby is growing up!" She hugged River.

After Zoey broke the hug, they burst into a fit of giggles.

"What time are you going to grab dinner?" Zoey asked.

"I don't know. I'm going with--"

"Axel Waters." Zoey said, smiling slyly.

"Yes." River rolled her eyes.

Just then, her phone rang and she picked up the call once  she saw the caller ID.

"Yo."

"Hey girly. Dinner at McDonald's?"

"Sure. What time?"

"Hmm. Ten minutes after I end the call?"

"Awesome. Where are you?"

"I'm already here. I already ordered. A filet right?"

"Yeah. Thank you." River thanked him, smiling.

"Nah. Now go get ready. See you in ten." Then he ended the call.

"Okay. Baby boo bear wants you to get ready right?" Zoey guessed.

River giggled and replied, "Not baby boo bear. Axel."

"Whatever. Now go."

After changing into a band tee shirt and skinny jeans, she put on a pair of converse and walked to the nearest McDonald's.

"Hi." She greeted, once she sat down at the table Axel was sitting.

Axel smiled at her and gave River her burger.

"Thank you." She said, a big grin on her face.

"So, I realized I haven't told you why I'm staying alone. And I have to tell you since you've already told me most of your secrets."

With her mouth full, River nodded.

"Okay. Where do I start?"

River rolled her eyes.

"From the beginning, duh." She said.
