Eric logged onto his computer. it was three in the morning where he lived in Texas, but about two in the afternoon for his online friend.

Cameron got a message on discord from Eric. he sighed, knowing the time zone difference better than anyone, that Eric was up at three in the morning again. but it wasn't because he's high.

Eric had been having a hard time at school recently. College was hard for him. and he wasn't having much fun like he was originally. the teachers would yell at him because he's too quiet, other kids would constantly try to prank him.

Cam knew why he was awake.

Eric
Cam, I'm gonna drop out.

Cameron
Er, I know it seems like a good idea, but that's a lot of money.

Eric
It's a lot more money if I stay. These people are top tier assholes.

Cameron
Wait until the end of the semester, okay? You have just under a month left.

Eric
I really wish I could see you.

Cameron
I know, Er.

Eric
Why does New Zealand have to be so fucking far away?

Cameron
I don't know. I hate our situation more than anything, and I know you do as well. We'll get there someday I promise.

Eric
I love you.

Cameron
I love you too.

Eric laid down in bed, placing his phone on the charger and staring at the wall with no particular reason too. Part of him wanted to get up and leave at that very moment, go home and leave everything here in hid dorm room. schedule a flight to New Zealand and fly halfway around the globe to see Cam.

Cam meant so much to him. there wasn't really any words to describe why Cam made him feel that way either. it was a fuzzy feeling of happiness when no one else was there to give it to him.

Eric felt bad feeling this way about Cam, especially since he knew he most likely didn't feel that way texting his best friend.

But Cam didn't know Eric felt like that either. a fuzzy feeling of happiness and warmth at the fact Eric always felt comfortable turning to him.

Even when the two platonically said "I love you" to the phone or in text, it felt real. Like they really loved each other.
