Just Another Girl

The Killers

Will Solace x Reader

Step out into the Indian dust

I can feel the cracks in my spirit

They’re starting to bust

Drive by your house

Nobody’s home

I’m trying to tell myself that I’m better off alone

“Maybe we should take a break.” (Y/n) quivered. This fight between (Y/n) and Will had been going on to long. Every point the two of you made just made it easier for you to suggest the separation. Will’s face went from red to pale. After a long pause Will answered.

            “Okay.”

And that was that. Camp ended for the school year and neither of you said a thing to each other.

All of my friends say I should move on

She’s just another girl

Don’t let her stick it to you heart so hard

And all of my friends say it wasn’t meant to be

And it’s a great big world

She’s just another girl (another girl)

(Y/n) sat on her bed doing homework across from her twin brother Link as rain violently hit the window.

“Do you understand the Algebra 1 homework?” Link asked, frustration dripping through his voice.

“Yeah, here are my notes they aren’t chicken scratches like yours.” (Y/n) joked.

Suddenly, loud music starting playing. It came staright through her window.

I went to see a fortuneteller that was a trip

Maybe this confusion’s got me losing my grip

I can’t believe you’re out there flying with somebody else

Now Jason’s getting married in the blink of an eye

I got an invitation but I didn’t reply

Tell your little brother that we put down the gloves

And give him all my love

“What is that?” (Y/n) asked. Looking out the foggy window. Just hearing music and seeing no one outside.

“Music.” Link said in a ‘duh’ kind of way.  (Y/n) rolled her eyes.

“Do you want to go check it out?” (Y/n) asked, her curiosity getting the best of her.

“We have homework.” Link pointed out.

“Study break.” (Y/n) said as she pulled a sweatshirt over her dress and put on her boots.

All of my friends say I should move on

She’s just another girl

Don’t let her stick it to your heart so hard

And all of my friends say it wasn’t meant to be

And it’s a great big world

She’s just another girl

(Y/n) ran toward the lobby into the rain and looked around for the music, which had gotten louder. Link trailed angrily behind her.

(Y/n) looked in front of herself and saw Will Solace holding his guitar and singing. He’s blond hair plastered to his face and his clothes completely soaked to his body. He smiled and his voice wavered for a second then he continued singing.

I could be reeling them in left and right

Something’s got a hold on me, tonight

Well, maybe all of my friends should confront

The fact that I don’t want another girl

Will sang as they both stood in the rain. (Y/n) recognized the song to be ‘Just Another Girl by The Killers’. The Killers’ was (Y/n) favorite band. He finished the song and over the rain he shouted.

All of my friends say I should move on

All of my friends say

All of my friends say

All of my friends say

She’s just another girl

“I shouldn’t have said ‘okay’!” Will shouted. “I shouldn’t have let you walk away, at least not like that. (Y/n) I don’t even remember what we were arguing about. All I know is no girl could ever compare to you. I can’t sleep at night, you’re all that’s on my mind.”

They stood in silence for what seemed to be to long.

Then why can’t I sleep at night

And why don’t the moon look right

The sound’s off but the TV’s on

And it’s a great big world

Both of them stood there. Will was out of breath and (Y/n) stood in shock. The rain continued to come down hard on them.

“I was only able to come up with one explanation.” Will said, finally breaking the silence.

“I’ve missed you and I love you, (Y/n) (L/n).” Will stated loud and proud.

(just a) She’s just another girl,

Don’t let her stick it to your heart, boy

(just a) She’s just another girl

All of my friends say

(just a) she’s just another girl

“Oh Will, I love you too.” (Y/n) ran towards Will and threw her arms around his neck.

            They kissed. Will chuckled.

“I knew I was right to fight for you.”

Another girl.
