THE VOID

                          {Saturday - Hero's day}

((Hero sits on the couch, watching television. Although he's not really watching it. His eyes continue to dart to the front door every few seconds))

Alex: "He's coming, don't worry. He'll come" ((he says sitting next to Hero, a frown playing on his face))

Hero: "Maybe we shouldn't do this, I'm not sure if he's ready" ((he replies knowing that it's him that's not ready, he's never been good at saying goodbye. There's a faint knock on the door))

Alex: "Show time" ((he gulps, pushing back his own sadness before heading to answer it))

Hero: ((stands to his feet, he takes a few deep breaths. Today isn't about him, for once he needs to put his friends first and be brave. He makes his way to the door, grabbing his keys and putting them in his pocket. Offering a small smile to Alex))

Alex: ((closes his eyes and takes one last breath before he opens the door)) "You alright, man?" ((He says with a calm tone))

Felix: "Yeah, I'm good. Let's just get this over and done with" ((he waits awkwardly by the door, staring at the ground))

Hero: ((moves past Alex and grabs Felix in his arms, holding him. Felix doesn't protest but he just stands there not moving))

Alex: "Hey, don't leave me out" ((he shouts wrapping his arms around both of them))

Felix: "I'm fine, honestly" ((he says with a shaky voice)) "I'm fine" ((he repeats twice as he feels his eyes watering up))

Hero: "Okay, you're fine. Maybe it's me that needs a hug" ((he says holding him tighter))

Alex: "I know I do!" ((He adds)) "Not everything is about you Felix, jeez" ((he says taping Felix on the back of his head))

Felix: ((let's out a muffled laugh)) "Right let's go, Mel and Jack are waiting in the car"

((Alex and Hero both let him go, and close the door behind them. They head downstairs and jump into Mel's black range rover. The journey is mostly silent, a selection of Oasis songs playing through the speakers. They finally make it to their destination and Mel parks the car but nobody leaves. There is one song left on the playlist and they let it play out. Ironically 'Stop crying your heart out' plays and Felix's cheeks are stained with tears. Jack notices this and lightly starts singing the song, Mel joins in. Alex starts humming and as the chorus comes in Hero and Felix start screaming it at the top of their lungs and then the whole car irrupts. They continue for the whole song. Reliving a memory that has happened countless times, only previously with an extra person in the car))

Felix: ((closes the door behind as he steps out the car)) "You know, he would have complained that none of us did an air guitar" ((he says putting his hands in his pockets))

Jack: "He would have been pissed that I had to start the song" ((he adds rolling his eyes, before smiling))

Alex: ((looks over at Mel and they both say in unison)) "If you're not going to do it right, fuck off and listen to pop radio" ((Felix can't help himself but laugh))

Mel: "Maybe you shouldn't join in on this one Mel, tone death don't work for me" ((she adds shaking her head))

Felix: "Felix and I will sing it alone, the rest of you shut up" ((he says a smile covering his face))
