memories aren't as good
as they're said to be
we will always remember more pleasantly
than things could ever be
looking back
the air seems to shimmer
and we forget the fact that
reality is always dimmer
i remember the intensity of their eyes
and the sparkle of their smile
but i always forget that memory lies
maybe it's to push us to keep living
after all, if everything becomes that shiny
were we ever that sad in the beginning?
it's easy to lose your way
in memories of the past
i could spend all day
remembering the things that didn't last
