in the middle of the day
in the dead of the night
she lets down her beautiful blonde hair
through a little window
in her tiny little prison
the princess waited
and waited
and waited
when will he come
her mother told her
you're not strong enough
the lanterns told her
you're not bright enough
everyone told her
he will never come
for someone like you
the princess stood up
to her mother
to the lanterns
to the world
he will come
before her last breaths
