𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 ▹ characters.

MIKE:
- mike went out not only to get you a bouquet of flowers, but your mom as well
- he's so nervous but tries to hide it
- he is so polite throughout the entire dinner, makes sure they know that he would never hurt you, and is literally so sweet
- they think he's an amazing guy for you by the end of the night

WILL:
- this boy is a nervous wreck
- on the way to your house he kept telling himself "don't screw this up, william byers! don't you dare screw this up"
- he made notecards so that he wouldn't screw up
- once he actually meets your parents he relaxes a bit
- he helps your mom do the dishes after the meal
- they LOVE him

LUCAS:
- lucas met your parents at the star court mall
- erica had gotten into some trouble at the mall and steve couldn't watch her so he called her parents to pick her up
- lucas was off with the boys somewhere and you were waiting with erica
- when her parents got there they were about to yell at erica but then they noticed you, "umm... hi, what's your name?"
- "hi mrs. sinclair, i'm y/n. lucas's girlfriend."
- "oh, uh! nice to meet you y/n! i have to go take care of erica but we'll definitely have you over for dinner sometime!"
- "nice to meet you too, mrs. sinclair!"

DUSTIN:
- you were trick or treating with the gang
- dustin was the last to meet up with you guys and as you all were leaving his house his mom came running out the door
- "dusty! don't forget your money!"
- "why would i need money, mom?"
- she looked at dustin and then to you, "just in case, dusty. now, introduce me to this lovely lady. i don't believe we've met before."
- "mom, this is y/n, my girlfriend."
- "oh, y/n! nice to meet you! have a great time trick or treating!"
- it's a bit awkward but she loves you

MAX:
- max actually met your parents before you two began dating
- it was a friday night and your parents were dropping you off at the arcade to meet with your friends
- max saw you first and she ran over to you
- she was about to walk away with you but then she noticed your parents so she headed towards them
- "hi, i'm max, y/n's friend. it's nice to finally meet you, i've heard lovely things about you!"
- she is the literal definition of sweet

ELEVEN:
- el was a bit awkward meeting your parents
- since she didn't socialize much, she got a bit overwhelmed answering questions and talking at first
- however, before she came over for dinner you told your parents that she had social anxiety so things might get off to a slow start but she would warm up to them
- that's exactly what happened
- both your mom and dad ended up loving her

JONATHAN:
- like will, he's extremely nervous and a bit awkward
- you had to hold his hand under the table throughout the dinner because he was stressing too much
- he pulls himself together in the end and warms up to your parents
- of course they both end up loving him

STEVE:
- going into the dinner your parents both knew that steve was the king of the school
- he had a one on one talk with both of your parents to let them know that he would never hurt you
- your mom loves him from the start but your father isn't as approving of him
- however, after the course of a couple months your dad starts to warm up to him and the two of them literally become best friends

NANCY:
- you two had known each other since birth
- your moms were best friends and that carried onto you
- growing up both your mom and dad and the wheelers could tell that something romantic would have to evolve between the two of you
- when you and nancy announced that you two were dating your parents could not have been happier
- they think she's an amazing girl who's right for you

ROBIN:
- the first time she met your parents you actually weren't there
- she knew you around from classes in school and all that and had been crushing hard on you
- so she looked through the book that had all the families addresses and phone numbers in it and was able to get a hold of your mom
- she told her that she was planning on asking you to the school dance and needed help planning it
- your mom said yes and she got your dad in on it so the three of them already knew each other before you officially introduced them to her
