Selena's POV
We have been making good progress! Mae is a month old now! We've been on the road for a month now. I hope we find shelter soon to stay for a while, I'm tired of being on the road even though we have cars.
"Right there?" Rick asks "Yes sir that's were I saw it, there where big gold gates, by the looks of it it looks like a community" Father Gabrial responds.
The perks of sitting in the back seat, you hear everything.
The car comes to a stop and we all get out and walk to the gates.
"Hello! Anyone!" Rick screams "Visitors I see! This is my community, yes we have little numbers but we are family! You guys look like you've been on the road for a while. My name is David." A guy says walking up to the gate "I'm Rick and this is my group" Rick says.
It was silence for a minute, awkward silence.
"Excuse my horrible manners! Please come in! Your welcome" David says opening the gates "Let me show you around and if you decided to stay we will get you your own house for each of you!" He says walking towards the streets "Boys! Shut the gates!" He adds.
As we were walking I look over at Carl who is holding Mae "Don't walk to fast" I say grabbing his arm and holding on.
"This is our first neighborhood, we have about 6 more. Good morn'in Holly! Where are the kids?" David asks a women sitting in the lawn chair, "Hey David! The kids are at the school house, we got new people?" The women asked "We don't know yet! Still given them the grand tour!" He says with a chuckle and moves along.
"Schoolhouse?" I whisper to Carl, he looks at me and smiles.
"This is the hospital, Denise come out here say hi!" David said "Hello I'm Denise, nice to meet you" he said putting his hand out, but the thing was he stuck it out to me, I let go of Carl and took his hand "Selena" "I'm Carl, her boyfriend and this is Mae OUR daughter" Carl says.
Awww he's getting jealous.. but why
"So guys what do ya say? Wanna stay?"
We all look at each other
"Yes" we all say in sync
