-Kurt, do you honestly think our coffee outings these past couple weeks, haven't been dates?
~SebastianKurt stared confused at the message.
"Are you Okay, Kurt?" He faintly heard Rachel ask, and he looked up at her, managing to smile half heartedly.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm okay.." he said, breath hitching when another message ticked in on his phone.-So, is it a date or not?
~SebastianKurt opened the message with shaking fingers, typing back a reply.
-Are we dating?
~KurtSebastian read the message. But he didn't reply. He didn't reply, leaving Kurt with a heavy feeling in his stomach. He said the wrong thing. Of course he did. He always did this.
Wasn't that why he wasn't with Blaine now?
If he'd just not said anything, he'd still be with Blaine. But now he was alone, while Blaine was decorating his apartment with Dave Karofsky."So, you can go past the music store, right?" Rachel asked, catching Kurt in his thoughts. "Sure. Of course I can."
He said, getting up, more or less stumbling to grab his coat, before regaining confidence, and balance, pulling on his jacket as he left the choir room.
Being in the music store relaxed him. Kurt felt like his problems weren't that big, like he could breathe without trouble, when he Let it go, and looked through the sheet music to find the songs Rachel had given him a list over.
Somewhere around the broadway part of the store, Kurts walls broke down though, as he saw the familiar gelled head across from him.
"Kurt, hi!" Blaine sounder cheerful, and Kurt let his tongue run over his lip, wanting to sound the same - be the same.
"Hi, Blaine." His voice came out smaller, more quiet.Shit.
"And Dave." He added, as he saw the old bully standing with his ex-fiancé, making anger and sadness stir in his stomach.
He could faintly hear Dave talking to him, as if nothing was wrong, but couldn't pay attention as he heard his phones message tone. He pulled it up to see; although knowing it was rude.-we've been meeting up nearly every afternoon for three weeks. I don't drive from Westerville to Lima, that often, for just anyone. - you tell me, isn't that the definition of dates?
~SebastianKurt couldn't help the feeling bubbling up in his stomach, he could feel both Blaine and Karofsky looking at him, and he muttered an 'excuse me' before dodging past them, continuing to look for the sheet music he needed
-where are you at? I'll pick you up.
~SebastianQuickly texting where he was, Kurt wondered how it'd look, him leaving the store with Sebastian, especially to Blaine, if he still was there.
"How're you doing?" Blaine asked. It was obvious Blaine was still trying to be friends. Their breakup hadn't been as bad as the first time, and perhaps they were still friends. Kurt just wasn't sure he could be friends with someone who he was still in love with.
Because he was, wasn't he? He still loved Blaine. Blaine, who meant so much to him. Obviously Blaine didn't still love him. And that hurt Kurt more than anything. More than any of the insults Sebastian had ever shot his way - Maybe that was why Kurt had forgiven him, more or less."I'm okay. Busy, with helping Rachel and all." Kurt admitted, keeping his eyes fixed on the music sheets, not allowing himself to look up into Blaine's eyes.
"We haven't.. we haven't really talked for a while." Blaine said, causing Kurt to break his own promise, looking up at him.
"I guess there's not much to talk about." He said, before turning, walking away. He became aware of Blaine following him.
"Kurt, just, wait for a momen-" Blaine was cut off.
"When someone walks away, it's typically because they don't want to talk to you." A way to familiar voice said. Kurt turned to meet The green eyes. They were full of judgement. A look kurt often had seen in them. But it was different this time. Because this time it wasn't towards him, but towards the one they'd always been mentally undressing."Sebastian. I didn't know you were in town." Blaine said, confused for a moment.
"How are you?" He asked politely, a tone different than the one he'd spoken to with Kurt, though they hadn't really spoken that much.Sebastian, completely ignoring Blaine's words, looked at Kurt. "So, Coffee?"
Kurt let his gaze flicker from Sebastian to Blaine, and back to Sebastian.
"I just have to find the sheet music for glee.." he trailed off."For Rachel, Right. Text her and say she can find her own sheet music, since you have plans."
Kurt let out a stilted laugh. He half had the mind to do as Sebastian suggested, Rachel didnt really take his opinion into account anyway, and when she did, they always ended with her way in the end.
"I'm not sure she'd appreciate that." Kurt said.
Sebastian shrugged casually. "So? Does she appreciate that you're spending your free time like this? And suffering while doing so, stuck here with a hobbit and a bear?"
Blaine looked surprised to say the least - Kurt was talking to Sebastian, more than he'd talked to him, and Sebastian seemed to be inviting him out. Blaine's brain was on overwork, trying to figure out what was going on. - Why was Sebastian being like this towards him? so far he'd always been nice, more than that really, he'd been flirty with him, but now he was rude.
Kurt considered his options, before pulling out his phone.
-ran into Blaine and Karofsky at the music store, couldn't stand it - can you buy the sheet music?
~KurtHe texted Rachel, before dodging past Sebastian and Blaine, walking to the exit.
"You coming smythe, or are you frozen there?" Kurt teased, as he saw Sebastian not moving the slightest, glaring at Blaine, who looked uncomfortable and confused.Sebastian shifted his glare from Blaine to Kurt, where his eyes softened.
"Let's go." He said, walking outside with Kurt, leaving Blaine confused inside, as Karofsky came up, looking as they left."Isn't that, that old warbler guy?" He asked confused, remembering having seen Sebastian somewhere once - Probably scandals.
"Whats he doing with Kurt?"
Blaine looked at Karofsky; then back at the two.
"I don't know." He said. To anyone who knew Blaine well, they'd be able to hear the resentment, in his voice. But Karofsky didn't pick up on it. something shifted inside BlaineSebastian wasn't going to break Kurts heart.
Kurt was his.
