IT'S summer in Hawkins, Indiana. The days are short and bright, Morgan just waiting for it to end before she can leave for college. She gets a job at Scoops Ahoy to pass the time, the ice cream parlor in the new Starcourt Mall that's slowly sucking the life out of Hawkins (or so she says).
Pulled back into the mess of the Upside Down was not her plan for the summer, but then again, neither was finding Russians in the basement of the mall...
