Shower Thoughts

I stared at my reflection in the steamed mirror,

So vulnerable and so hopeless.

Where did the happy girl go?

Where did the smart girl go?

Where did the strong girl go?

Why was she replaced by this new girl?

Who's untamed and heartless,

Who's negligence had brought her downfall to her own doorstep,

Who's hopes have washed away down the drain like her sweetly scented shampoo;

Why is she here?

(Inhale, exhale.

Inhale, exhale.)

I felt my heart being pierced,

While a sickly venom began coursing through my veins,

The one with the poisoned needle being myself.

(Inhale, exhale.

Inhale, exhale.

Inhale, exhale.

Inhale, exhale.

Inhale...)
