If I could chose to loose an ability.
It might be my hearing.

When I have to see I could witness the most horrible things but it could be to my advantage

I could still see the most heartwarming things, these ones that caress your soul, being touched by a loving gaze.

When I have to talk, I can be heard but often not listened to.

Whether I talked or didn't it wouldn't change anything.

But when I have to hear, I perceive the most heart wrenching screams, witness to razor blade words, no matter how hard I cover my ears they still seemed to be living things of their own...

When I'm deaf I can choose to be heard or to stay silent and no one would want me, no one might mind me.

I would be heard by the ones who care and choose me, not my words.

They understand my hands when I sign, my smile when it's sad, and my soul when my eyes cry.
