He drew it on my arm.

The elegant butterfly

Helps stop me from harm.

I can't just simply let go,

But he's here for me.

This I know.

If you don't know what the Butterfly Project is, it's basically this:
To keep you from self-harm,
You draw a butterfly on yourself, or a friend draws it for you in hopes that you will quit.
If and when you do cut or burn, you kill the butterfly. Your goal is to keep it alive and to always have it on you.

Some people already have figured it out, but I thought I should also explain the story a bit. (since there are no names.) When the narrator says "you" or "you're" Narrator is talking to their past lover, an abusive person. When Narrator refers to "he" or "him", they are talking about their newfound love to their old lover.

So basically, these poems are by Narrator, directed at Old Lover, about New Lover.

Confusing, I know. Sorry.

Love ya. 😋❤️✌️-Addie-
