I'm jade perez. i'm from the philippines. my parents died so i live with my brother.
i'm leaving the philippines today. i don't wanna leave my home, my friends, my family.
as i pack my bags i hear someone knock on my door. my brother comes in.
"hey, jade. are you done?" he asks leaning on the door but falling anyways.
i laugh at him. "yes, kuya. [1] you clumsy, lazy pig."
he gives me the look and chuckles. "oh yeah- and by the way, you're friends are coming-" he gets interrupted by the doorbell. "now."

"jade!" my best friends come shouting in, hugging me. "hey ashley, minhee." i smile, hugging them back. "bes [2], we'll miss you so much!" "i know, i'll miss you too."
we let go of the hug and they help me pack my things.

"i'm leaving in 15 minutes." i say, eating my burger. "man, it's gonna be so hard. do they have jollibe [3] there? what if they don't?" ashley asks. "i don't know." i say, my voice muffled cause i stuffed my mouth with a hamburger. "slow down, you pig. i'll miss you." my brother says, smiling at me. i stop eating and smile at him, pulling him into a hug. "aw, i wanna cry." minhee says pretending to wipe her tears and we all laugh, continuing to eat our food.

"its time for me to leave." i say, smiling at everyone.
my brother, alex comes and hugs me. "i'll miss you you pig. try not to light your apartment on fire." i hug him back. "promise. i'll miss you too."
i let go of the hug and my friends jump on me. "why do you have to leavee~" they say.
"japan is like- not that far away but we're too broke to but tickets." minhee says.
"yeah. well shit i gotta go. bye guys." we hug one last time and i wave goodbye, walking away.
