It had been a while since I quit my job at the corner cafe, and in an attempt to earn some money while keeping some free time for surfing, I advertised some babysitting posters across town with the help of Kakyoin. (I'm fond of kids, so thought it would be a fun idea/I hate kids, but the money is worth it/etc).
I began to get calls in from neighbouring families, and had eventually established myself as a trustworthy babysitter in the neighbourhood. But on this particular night, I had a family with four small children to babysit for, and needed help caring for them.
"Any chance you could come help me babysit tomorrow?" I inquired as Kakyoin and I strolled back from the shore, ready to clear up our belongings and head home after a long day of surfing. "No can do. I have family over, and I disappeared last time. Remember?"
I chuckled softly as I recalled his attempts to catch my attention by throwing pebbles at my window that night, leaving it with the small crack on the left corner that has yet to be discovered by anyone else. His family feigned having no idea where he went, but we were so joined at the hip as kids that they let him off.
"Yeah, I remember." I then sighed defeatedly, a small headache already beginning to form at the thoughts of minding four children at once. "Why don't you ask Jotaro?"
I furrowed my brows at his suggestion, heavily considering it but also doubting he would agree. He might not be a fan of kids, so in that case I'll just have to tell him we can half the money.. Or maybe he is, so he won't mind? "I'll give it a try." I finally shrugged. The worst he could say is no, right?

"No."
"Please! We can split the cash! I'll do whatever you want for a week! I'll do anything!" I pleaded desperately. Kakyoin gave me directions to his house, so if it wasn't strange enough that I'd randomly shown up on his doorstep, asking him to go babysit for kids he didn't even know must have been even more off-putting. I should've thought this one through..
Jotaro paused for a moment, his eyes hidden behind the circular shadow cast over his face, so I couldn't tell if he was silently cursing my existence at that moment or if he was actually considering going. But once he finally spoke up, that doubt answered itself. "Fine."
My eyes gleamed with newfound relief and excitement at his final answer. "Really?" I uttered out, needing to hear him confirm a second time to be sure I didn't hear him wrong. He let out a soft grunt, eyes narrowing ever so slightly, but the emotion in his glowing blueish-tinted green eyes remained the same. "Yare yare daze.." He grumbled under his breath. "Wait here."
And so he shut the door in my face with little to no warning. But my contented expression didn't even falter for a second. He agreed! Now there was no need to worry about babysitting so many kids on my own. That would have been impossible since they're pretty energetic, so Jotaro was like a godsend to me at that moment.
He would never admit it, but he was secretly looking forward to minding the kids. He enjoyed spending time together without Kakyoin's countless interruptions, and was thankful that he got to spend his evening doing more than just lounging around aimlessly.
