It had been a few days since the stalker incident, and Kakyoin would not let up about how perfectly his plan was coming along. "I still can't get over how well-timed it was!" He gushed silently to himself for the millionth time as the two walked home from school together. "I think it's about time for the final phase."

Jotaro automatically sucked in a breath of air and held it nervously. The final phase was to ask her out, plain and simple. No step-by-step plan, no gradual lead-up. Just knock on her door and hope that everything went accordingly.

"But I was thinking.." He smirked, eyes glued to a particular building in the nearby distance. "Why not make things a little bit more interesting?" Jotaro eyed him warily, unsure of his newfound plans and unaware of what he was scheming this time. But seeing as his plans had worked seamlessly before, he decided to trust him. "Sure.."

"Straighten up a bit." Kakyoin nudged Jotaro, urging him to fix his posture. They had previously been to Kakyoin's house to get him spruced up for the 'occasion', so to match his new slightly-altered look, he needed to act the part.

While Kakyoin had lost the debate on wether or not Jotaro should wear his hat, he had made a few subtle tweaks here and there that made him appear more romantic. Namely the bouquet of roses they'd bought from the florist, and the leather jacket that he'd swapped out for his signature coat.

"What should I say..?" Jotaro questioned in a quiet tone, completely unsure of himself as they'd reached their final destination faster than he'd hoped for. "You'll figure it out." Kakyoin laughed, patting his back supportively.

*ding dong*
Kakyoin had pressed the doorbell and made a run for it, sprinting as fast as he could to the nearest bush and tactfully jumping over it to watch from afar.

Jotaro sweatdropped as he watched Kakyoin land himself in the closest ditch he could find, silently praying that (Y/n) wouldn't be home to answer the door. But unfortunately for him, she was.

"Jotaro..?" She peered up at him curiously before her gaze slowly trailed down towards the overwhelming amount of red that blocked her view of his latest outfit. Her eyes widened at the sight, beyond surprised to see such a beautiful assortment of bright red roses being presented to her.

As the silence fell over the two, neither knowing what to say next, Jotaro simply held out the bouquet for her to take without exchanging a word. Luckily she was farther away from him than arms length, seeing as the force he'd used to hand them to her was enough to knock her off her feet if she stood even a few inches closer.

(Y/n) was quick to accept them, holding out her arms widely, unfazed by the weight of them as they were just as heavy as they looked. "T-thank you." She giggled embarrassedly, trying her best to suppress the rising grin that wanted to form at the excitement of receiving her first bouquet of flowers.

She inhaled deeply, humming at the fresh smell of the sweet roses that filled her senses. She peered down into the bundle of radiant flowers, only to notice a small white piece of card outlined with decorative black spirals attached inside.

But written within this pattern read:
"Go out with me?"

It was at that moment that Kakyoin's efforts had paid off. He'd expected Jotaro to freeze up and be at a loss for words, so took matters into his own hands by forcing him to write a note and attach it to the stem of a single blossoming rose. A backup plan that Jotaro thought would be pointless, but only now could he appreciate it.

"Y-you..." She stuttered as she read the card multiple times over to make sure her eyes weren't deceiving her. "You want.. to go out with me?"

"I... Yes." He lowered his gaze, hiding the excessive amount of blush that would have put the crimson roses to shame.

(Y/n) smiled, her cheeks aching slightly from the amount of happiness she was feeling all at once. She knelt down by the doorway, placing the large bouquet on the floor in the hallway before turning to face him. Seeing as he was still hiding his embarrassment, she decided to break the silence and show her appreciation for his actions. She took a few quick steps forward so that she could reach out her arms and envelop him in a surprise hug, catching him slightly off-guard.

Seeing as their height difference was something to marvel, she could easily meet his previously hidden gaze beneath his cap, admiring the luminous green and blue hues that still shone brilliantly in the shade. "Then of course I will."

His eyes suddenly sparkled brighter than she'd ever seen them before, an overwhelming amount of excitement and joy pooling from them in an instant. They flickered from her right eye, to her left, and to her right repeatedly, trying his best to read her (e/c) emotion-filled eyes that showed no signs of hidden hesitation. His arms wrapped around her smaller frame to return her previous gesture, and his head buried into her shoulder to indulge in the heartfelt moment. She could feel his heavy heartbeat thumping wildly in his chest, even more unruly than her's.

"How does tomorrow at seven sound?" He pulled back slightly from the embrace, his face just a few inches from her's. She hesitated to answer, too caught up admiring his attractive features from close-up and relishing in the warmth of his hot breath intermingling with her's. "S-sounds great." She couldn't help but stutter, earning a small smile to slowly appear on Jotaro's typically stern expression. "Good."

And with that, he began to leave, one hand stowed away in his left pocket, the other dangling loosely by his side. While his exit was abrupt, it gave her time to recover from the strangely addictive feeling that weighed heavily on her chest. She leaned her body against the edge of the doorframe, content with just watching him leave, noting each small detail that would otherwise go unnoticed; the way he lightly bit his lip to suppress his growing smile, his half-lidded eyes that were cast towards the ground as he thought back onto today's events.

She sighed dreamily, closing the door so that she could press her back against it and catch her breath, not even realising that she was holding it in for so long. The burning sensation that spread across the entirety of her face was beginning to wear off, and she hummed at the feeling of her cool hands pressing against them. It was like eating ice cream on a scorching hot summer's day, only that it evoked so much more happiness and left her feeling giddy and pleasantly overwhelmed.

The large bouquet caught her eye once more, and she giggled at the sight, picking up the large bundle to place on the centre of the kitchen table. But before she left the room, she took the small piece of card with her to her bedroom so that she could place it inside a picture frame to keep as a small reminder.

After scanning the few selections of photos she had with her friends hung up on the wall, she decided on the group photo that showed him staring lovingly at her laughing expression, and she slipped the piece of card between the glass and the photograph to perfectly compliment his gaze.

"Yes!"
Kakyoin jumped up from his hiding place, cheering at his success. Not only was his childhood betting money restored to his bank, but his favourite pairing was officially on their way to becoming a proper couple..
