Alyssa:

"You good there Alyssa?"

"Huh?" I look up to see both my mums staring at me, concerned. I move my gaze to the clock and realise that I have been pushing around my food for half an hour without eating a mouthful.

"Something is bothering you," says Izzie, my mums like me to call them by their first names, which I like, it reduces the confusion than calling them both mum.

"No there isn't!" I say that a bit too quickly.

"Yes, there is," says Casey, "I know because you are not eating your mashed potatoes. You always eat them."

Nothing escaped the notice of my parents, it is easier to just tell them. Sigh! "Fine, it involves Julia. There is this party tomorrow that I really badly want to go to. Everyone will be there but Julia doesn't want to go. I suggested that we instead have a movie night. Now I am wondering if I made the right choice."

There was silence in the room, Izzie is the one who broke the silence.

"If I were you, I would think about what means more to me, going to a party or hanging out with Julia."

"And adding on to what Izzie said, in my opinion, it is better to have one really good friend than have many fake friends. But the final decision is up to you."

"Thanks, that really helped"

"Anytime bub, Casey and I are here whenever you need it."

Movie night:

Julia and I are watching Frozen for the millionth time together. Don't judge us, it is a really good movie. The movie never gets old for us. We still cry when Olaf melts. We still cheer when Elsa frees Anna. We sing/scream all the songs by heart.

However, something is different this time. I don't know what it is but it starts when singing 'Love is an open door'. Julia is naturally a quiet girl but not with me. Yet she seems to be distracted, reserved. She is still engaging with the movie but it is like she is trying to avoid me. It continues for the rest of the movie.

This next section occurs at the same time as the last section

Julia's POV:

No, no, this can't be happening, Alyssa has been my friend for 8 years. But why are her eyes shining like that? And why is my heart racing? It must be the light that is causing the sparkle. And my heart is racing because I am dancing around, that would explain why my face is heating up. Yep, that is why. It is totally not because I like Alyssa.

At the end of the movie, we are sitting on my bsd, creating conspiracy theories about our teachers when Alyssa suddenly says, "What is wrong?"

"What do you mean?"

"Throughout the movie you were distant. Did I do something?" There is a small hint of hurt in her eyes.

I hate lying to people but what am I to say?

"Uh- It's nothing, just nervous about exams." Which was also true.

"You'll do fine! The way that your mum, Elena, makes you study, you are sure to pass exams."

I chuckle, "Thanks, you always know how to make me feel better."

"Anytime. Now, back to Mr Archibald."

Hope you enjoy this chapter. Yes, my chapters are quite short. I am not the best at writing lengthy things. I am hoping to make bigger ones tho.
