As for Maia, she felt betrayed. "I going to show him" she muttered to herself "I going to show all Men". I am going to follow them and kill whatever animal they come across". "Go silently, go quickly, go show them the way" she whispered as she stalked up into the darkness. She went walking on for a few more kilometres when she saw them again. It looked like Ihaia and Nikau were talking secretly and if they did not want anyone to know what they were talking about. Nikau was her father's second in command becuase he trusted Nikau for his life. It was hard to hear what they were saying so, Maia climbed an old oak tree and got on to the edge of it, so she could hear. "We cannot go west of the great river but, not north of the great mountain," Nikau said. Ihaia thought for a while and then replied: "We must go across the river and to the great forest becuase the food here is gone and we must find some new sources of food". "Very well," Nikau said, "I will order the men to be off". As they were off indeed but, for the better not they were not sure.
