A creak echo's through the room. I sit up and look around, nervously. " Hello? " I whisper as I look over the bodies of kids. Everyone's in here. All us kids are in one area, because we were playing games and telling stories while the parents stressed about what they were going to do.
No answer.
Right now would be a good time for a weapon. If someone bad's here, I wouldn't be able to defend myself or others.
The sound of wind howling makes me jump. I shrink down a bit, trying to fall back asleep.
After spending about ten minutes of trying to block out the noises I hear and go back to sleep, the sound of a car honking scares me really bad. I jump up and run to my dad's room. He insisted on staying in his room tonight.
I throw open the door, not caring if I pushed down things in the process. I jump into my fathers bed, scaring the living daylights out of him in the process, and huddle under the sheets in fear.
" What the...." Dad says groggily. " Aura? Is that you, darling? "
" Daddy. " I whimper in fear. I curl closer to my dad.
" What's wrong? " Dad pulls the blanket out of my face.
" I'm scared. "
" What happened? " Dad sits up and I hug him tightly.
" It's just scary out there. Can I stay with you for the night? Please? " I practically beg.
" Yes. Sure. " Dad nods and strokes my hair as he tries to soothe me.
I sigh and listen to dad's heart beat as I try to calm down. He hums an Asgardian song I haven't heard in a very long time while patting my arm gently.
I'm such a scardy cat. I can't even last a night in an unfamiliar place.
