" ....And she just...left. Left me. " I roll my eyes at Clayton's ' sob ' story. He's been here at the mall for over an hour, telling his female ' friends ' about the horrible break up he went through.
He's being way over dramatic about it. Clayton met a girl, they dated for less than three days, and she broke it off. He's going on about the pain in his heart. I doubt he even remembers the girl's name. Scratch that, I know he doesn't. First he called her Brittany, then Cleo, Clara, and Jasmine. He has to learn to make up his mind. I don't even know how he has this story straight.
" You poor boy! " A girl in bright pink clothes pouts as she hugs him. " What a jerk! Who could ever let you, a super hot, super smart...."
" She's only boosting his ego. " Chase mutters.
".....Adorable guys! I can't believe her! " She finishes in outrage. She sighs and kisses Clayton's cheek before handing him a slip of paper. " That's my number. I have to go right now, but feel free to call me. Once again, I'm so sorry about what happened. "
Clayton nods sadly and takes the number. " Thank you Tara. "
" Sara. " She corrects.
" Sorry. Sara. " He smiles up at her weakly. " You're so nice. Thanks for listening to me. I know I haven't been the best company. "
" You're going through a hard time. It's totally understandable. Call me when you can. I've got to go. " She kisses his cheek one last time before walking off with her group of friends.
" And how many numbers does that make now, Clayton? " Mia asks with an eye roll.
" Fifteen. " Clayton smirks. " This is great. "
" You are unbelievable. " I growl while walking up to him. " You played with those poor girls hearts! You messed with them. You tricked them into feeling bad for you, all for some....dumb phone numbers. That's wrong. " I shake my head.
" It's not that big of a deal. " Clayton defends.
" Yes it is! Those poor girls. You're fooling them to get something out of them. " I gesture to the numbers. " This is exactly why girls would be better off without guys. Girls get so gullible and forget what to say and their morals when they're around guys like you. "
" Don't forget, the human population would die off without guys. " Clayton frowns.
" Well, I'd rather spend my days with a dying population than with a guy who manipulates girls. " I stick my chin into the air in annoyance.
" Well sorry. " Clayton stands up and stretches. " You're probably just jealous because I managed to get a date. Your dad is barely letting you start dating. "
" I am not jealous. Frankly, I haven't had my first boyfriend yet, and I'm not in a rush to get one. " I defend.
" Clayton, leave Aura alone. You were being a jerk to those girls. " Mia rolls her eyes. " But it's you so, that's all we can expect. " Mia drags me away from Clayton and Chase. She mutters about dumb boys as we walk into a store.
It's sad how things have turned out in life now. Guys manipulating girls and girls using guys.
