Vanessa's POV:
Today is the morning of the auditions for Romeo and Juliet. I woke up at 6:30 to start practicing my solo. I was stretching out when Cassandra woke up
C: Hey, will you keep it down. Some of us are trying to sleep
V: Sorry, I'm just nervous and stressed. I mean, I have to audition for Juliet so Beckett and I can spend more dance time together because all of my free time is now being spent choreographing for this show and for the team and for everyone. It's so stressful and time consuming that I think I won't have anytime left for Beckett. And don't get me wrong, this is my dream, but I just don't want to ruin anything.
C: I understand, here let me help you with your solo. Show me what you've got, plus you and Beckett have such good chemistry that you are bound to get the part
V: Okay, also what time are auditions. Cause I have to create an outline for some dances
C: I believe warmups start at 9:00 and breakfast starts at 8:30, so we've got some time to practice and prepare
V: Okay then let's get started

Then Cassandra watched me as I practiced my solo
C: Looks great V, you're going to nail these auditions
V: Thanks Cassie, now I just have to plan out some dances and get some food in around thirty minutes
C: Shouldn't be to hard
V: Exactly my thoughts

So we walked to the dining commons together while I planned some dance ideas in my head
.............................................................................
Soon it came time for the auditions. Beckett and I sat together on the floor in front of Ms. Helsweel.

H: Is everyone ready
Everyone: Yes Ms. Helsweel
H: Alright then, Cassandra lead the warmups while I talk to Ms. Morita

So I walked into Ms. Helsweel's office

H: Okay Vanessa, what ideas do you have
V: Well, I was thinking that we could have a broadway style sword fight sequence, a pax de duex between Romeo and Juliet for the balcony scene, a musical theater tap opening number, and a contemporary death sequence. My plan is that the show is a multi style showcase where we learn all the styles and everyone gets a chance to shine.
H: Well Ms. Morita, this is a very interesting idea that I think I can get behind. Would you start choreographing the opening number
V: Definitely, right after I audition
H: Are you sure you can handle choreographing the show and being in it
V: With all due respect, I know what I am capable of Ms. Helsweel. Plus I don't want anyone else playing Juliet with Beckett's Romeo
H: Well good because I don't want anyone else playing Juliet with Beckett's Romeo. That is why neither of you need to audition and I would like for you two to start choreographing your duet as soon as possible. I'd like a rough draft by tomorrow at lunch and until them I'll just finish the auditions
V: Okay, I'll go start now. Thanks Ms. Helsweel, I'll see you tomorrow at lunch

So then we walked back into the auditions and I called Beckett and we walked out of the room.

B: Hey, what's up
V: We got the parts!
B: Really? Just like that
V: Yep, she said she couldn't see anyone else as the leads and I have to start choreographing now so we don't have to audition
B: Sounds great! How can I help
V: Well you are amazing at tap and the opening number is going to be musical theater so maybe you could dance it while I tell you the moves?
B: So like what we did last year
V: Exactly
B: Sounds good, begin
V: Okay so, I was thinking that we could make it very cheesy. Like an intro to all the characters where everyone gets their solo part
B: I like it, so what would be my solo
V: Well... I think maybe some trick moves that are similar to mine so we look the same style but different. Like all the mongagues have one style and all the capulets another but ours are similar to show our connection.
B: I like it so how about this...

And for the next two hours, Beckett and I choreographed the opening number. Then all of the sudden, Ms. Helsweel walks out with the cast list and everyone runs out while I go up to talk to Ms. Helsweel

V: Hey Ms. Helsweel, can Beckett and I show you our idea for the opening number
H: Of course, and if I like it you can start teaching it immediately
V: Alright, Beckett you ready
B: Of course, let's do this

Then Beckett and I showed Ms. Helsweel our idea.

H: I like it. Go start teaching
V: Alright

Then we walked into the dance studio

V: Alright everyone, let's start the opening number. I need all montagues on one side and all capulets on the other

And then for the next hour I taught everyone the dance

V: Great job everyone, I'll see you tomorrow to start on some more dances and start tuning this one
Everyone: Thanks Vanessa, see you tomorrow

Then everyone left the studio leaving just Beckett and I

B: Hey, you want to start on our duet
V: I'd love to
B: Great, I was thinking we should do a ton of lifts, that way I could always be close to you. Also, do you want to go on pointe for this number?
V: Definitely, that way it'd be a true Pax de Duex
B: Well then, go get your shoes on and let's begin
