Chapter 28 - A Friend's Love

"I'll go get us more popcorn." Bas shouted to his friend at the bathroom. They had a pee break after the last movie they were watching from Netflix ended. He went to the kitchen to microwave more popcorn. 

Copter finally woke up at one in the afternoon. He had totally freaked out while watching his friend continue sleeping after nine hours - the supposed numbers of sleep Ambien can give. Copter had not taken any serious medication for years after he was cleared from alcohol addiction and depression but his friend had what seemed like a panic attack last night. He started asking for drinks and he had stopped drinking for years. Bas caught in surprise not knowing what to do resorted in putting sleeping pill on his friend's drink. He always had one with him for emergency use. He just learned to always be ready and be cautious after what happened to Copter in the past. Those were difficult months and he never wants to see his friend like that ever again. But it looks like Copter is once again in a difficult situation. His best friend had fallen in love with their client - an engaged to be married man. 

His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the microwave open. He got the popcorn out of the oven then put another pack inside. He was transferring the popcorn to a bowl when his phone pinged. He was surprised to see the name who lined him. He scanned the living room for any sign of Copter and when he was sure his friend is still in the bathroom he opened the message. 

Kimmon: Hi Bas
Kimmon: I asked Godt for your Line
Kimmon: Can we meet? I want to discuss about the wedding and some other things. 

Bas read the message. 'Some other things?' Is what caught his attention. He replied to the man. 

Bas: Sure
Bas: 7pm at Rustic? 
Kimmon: Okay. 

'Messaging me means he doesn't want Copter to know what we are about to discuss, right?' He asked himself just as he spotted Copter back in the living room. He had to make an excuse to meet the young CEO. He looked at the time. 

'4:30. Still enough time for one more movie.'

"Bas." Copter shouted from the living room. "Where is the popcorn? I found a good movie."

He hurriedly prepared the second popcorn. "Coming." He shouted from the kitchen. He can think for a good excuse while watching the movie. 

Bas keep looking at the time on his phone as the credit for the movie Olympus Has Fallen is rolling. 

"You can now go." He heard Copter say. Eyes still on the screen. 

"Cop." 

Copter laughed. "You've been here with me since last night and I know you're dying to be with Godt." His friend sheepishly smiled. 

"Are you gonna be okay here?" He asked still adamant to leave. He actually feel bad lying to his friend but he had to meet Kimmon. 

Copter nodded. "I'll just watch one more movie then go to sleep."

Bas looked worriedly at his friend. 

"Don't worry about me." Copter grinned. "You already done so much for me so get the hell out of here and go see your boyfriend." 

Bas chuckled. "Fine. But you will call if anything happens, okay?" He warned. 

"What could possibly happen to me here?" Copter laughed. 

He glared at him. 

"Okay, I'll promise to call you if anything happens." Copter swore then he joked. "Mom."

And they both laughed.

Bas immediately drove to Rustic Bar where he will meet Kimmon. He knew in this meeting he will find out whether the wedding will push through or not. After what happened last night to his best friend and the young CEO he would like to believe it will be the latter. For the very first time since they started Moon Weddings he wished for a wedding they are planning to be cancelled.
