*Amara POV
I hear the incessant beeping that I have heard too much the last couple weeks. I open my eyes and see Leo sitting next to me asleep. He looks so young while he is asleep. I start to run my hand through his hair and a small smile is put on his face as he continues to sleep.
"I see you are awake, " Dr.White says.
"Yeah I just woke up," I say still running my hand through his hair.
"Well I have some news for you, would you like to wait for Leo to be awake?"
"No, it is ok, just tell me what is going on".
"So Leo said you have been getting sick a lot this past day. Then Maddie said your eyes changed color when you were getting mad at them when your friends not being able to hear the rogues before you. This could suggest that your wolf maybe trying to finale show. Also how long were you abused for this can help us figure out why your wolf never came out".
"Wa-wait I may actually turn into a w-wolf?" I ask.
" Yes, but where you are so small and been abused for a while this can be very dangerous for you." Dr.White says.
" Ok... Well back to your earlier question. My mother died when I was very young, maybe 5 or 6 years old. Slowly my father would physical or emotionally abused me till Leo saved me. Every day it was me getting hit or kicked, with a mix of vile words about me or my mother and how it was my fault." As I see Leo waking up from us talking for so long.
"Thanks, Amara I will come up with a plan of action for you. Also, I will get someone to unhook you from the monitor so you can go home with Leo".
"Thank you I will keep in touch. Also, you know where to find me". After that, she walks out of the room and a nurse comes in and starts taking off the wires.
"Hey sleepyhead how are you?" I look over to Leo stretching. I see his shirt ride up a little to a very muscular stomach.
"Well, I could be better if you don't keep waking up in here. Also, your back is healing faster than normal since I'm around, so you will be seeing me a lot more till your fully healed." He says helping me sit up. On the way up I can feel a stinging on my back.
"What happened?" I question.
"Well, a rogue got to you when Ezra, Maddie, and Harper were fighting and tackled you to the ground, he then was able to scratch your back all the way down when Ezra was throwing him off you".
Wow, I was so lucky someone was there to help me. Why am I so hopeless when it comes to standing up for myself?
"Hey you did great, you tried to fight and you tried to run. Amara look at me you did great out there and once we figure out your wolf you can train." he says putting his hands on my face making me look at him.
"Are we able to leave this place is not my favorite place, " I say taking the blanket off my lap. Wait I'm in a hospital gown where are my clothes.
" The sweater you were wearing got ruined during the attack I brought you one of my shirts so it won't hit the scratch. Also, a pair of shorts to wear, along with some shoes." he says showing me a bag.
"Thank you, " as he helps me up from the bed. Leo helps me to the bathroom so I am able to change.
"If you need help just call for me, " he says turning around and shouting the door.
He is a way to good for someone as broken and as troublesome as me. He deserves someone who is confident and is strong and can defend themselves and doesn't need to be protected.
I was able to get the shorts and shoes on but the shirt I can't lift my arms enough to get it on.
"L-Leo I need your help, " I say looking away from the door.
"Ok, Amara I'm coming in what do you need?" he replied.
"I can't get my shirt on can you help me?" I say holding the shirt while covering my small body.
"Yeah let me see it, " he takes the shirt from me. "Put one of your arms through the hole, " and I did what was told. He then puts my head through the shirt and then I was able to put my other arm through the hole.
"Thank you for the help, " as I get on my toes and put a quick kiss on his cheek.
" Let's get going, we have to say Hi to Dr. White before we leave but other than that you are free to go".
As we walk down the hallway we see Dr.White at a computer typing things in.
"Hey doctor, just on the way out got anything before we go?" Leo asks taking my hand in his.
"Yeah change the bandage after your shower tonight. Then twice a day till all the way healed. Keep her close Leo and it should go faster." she explained. "Also Amara I have some foods you should try and eat for now and things like this. It is mostly meats and Vegetables, don't do too many sweets or fruit."
"Sounds good Doc. Hope to see you not in here again for a while." I say as I walk out of the door.
"Let me see the list, it is almost dinner time what sounds good?" as he starts naming things.
"Oh, the grilled chicken with a small salad sounds good".
"Well once we get home I will make you dinner. Also, Amara, I have something to ask you?"
"What is it, Leo?"
"Amara, would you go out on a date with me?" he asks. Wait me on a date. That is silly.
"W-Why?" I ask.
"I want to show you how to be loved and that I will always be there for you," he says stopping and holding my softly so he doesn't hurt my back. "So what is your answer?" as he rocks on his heels.
"Yes, Leo I will go on a date with you, " I say.
"Ok, well let's get you home. Amara, you need dinner to keep your strength up." as he continues to walk.
Once we get to the house we head straight towards the kitchen. Leo starts to get out all the ingredients after he set me on the counter. As he cooks it looks like he still has something in mind.
"What are you thinking, " I ask him.
"Well, I have something else to tell you".
"Ok, that doesn't sound very pleasant". I say worried.
" Well one of the wolves that attacked happened to have a similar scent that I have smelt before." he says still not looking at me.
"Ok... So do you know who it is?" I ask.
"Well it happens to be your father was one of the four. Out of the four, he was able to get away once you got hurt".
"My f-father knows w-where I am." This can't be happening, he can't find me.
"Hey... Hey calm down I won't let him hurt you." he says walking over to me after he put the chicken on the grill.
"But you can't tell me that he can't come for me things can happen".
"I will do everything I can to make sure he doesn't get to you." he stands in front of me holding me as I cry into his neck. I really don't want anyone to get hurt because of me. " I need to check on dinner, I will be right back."
I shake my head understanding what he is saying. He leaves and brings back two plates of food. He sits next to me as we eat in silence.
