Mia is a beautiful charismatic who dreams of becoming a famous model/actress but for now she's works as a bartender/waitress with Ben at the bar. Ben and Mia have been best friend since they were in diapers as Mia was born 2 months after him and their moms are best friends since high school.  Ben and the others tease her about being a virgin in her 20s.
She has also been in love with Danny since childhood but she was too scared to say anything to him..
Mia is a very loyal and protective of her family and friends.

Daniel Mellencamp "Danny" Wheeler:
Ben's older brother, who is a professional hockey player for the New York Rangers. His younger brother looks up to him, and is sometimes envious of Danny being better at everything. Danny has also been in love with Mia ever since he was six and she was four. He wrote about her in his journal showing he has been in love with her since childhood.

Ben's best friend and roommate.
Tucker is funny, quirky, sweet, and sarcastic at times. He considers himself a ladies man at times even though he is not seen with many women during the show and gets jealous of his friends for getting so many women and sometimes ask his friends to ask their girlfriends to hook Tucker up with one of their friends. He loves his friends as he helps them with their plans and helps them out with their problems. He is friendly towards everybody as long as they don't eat his food. Tucker has a love-hate and somewhat teasing relationship with Mrs. Wheeler.

Bonnie N. Walker (née Prapinski; previously Wheeler): Ben and Danny's mother and Mia's godmother..She is a happy, outgoing, loud, and dramatic person who has a kind heart. Bonnie loves her kids, Mia and her granddaughter more than anything. She loves to drink..
She describes herself as "a beautiful young woman with goals and ambitions."

Chelsea Kane as Riley Perrin:
Ben and Mia's close friend and Danny's best friend since they were little. It has been said that she was extremely overweight in high school and, When they were kids, her nickname was "Rigantor" and could beat up the boys, enjoyed watching professional wrestling with Danny, and played field hockey as well as street hockey. She is highly intelligent. Despite having some difficulty with the LSATs, she did well enough to get accepted into law school. Riley is also extremely competitive.

Louise and Susanne Allan Hartman in season 1 as Emma Wheeler :
Ben's daughter, who was left at his door by a one night stand. Angela, Emma's mother, and Ben went on with their lives until she realized she was pregnant and gave birth to the child. Deciding that her acting career was more important than raising a child, she left Emma at Ben's front door and gave him full custody of Emma.
