A Hero's Story

The New World's Beginning...

It's been about a year I think since that day and I'm still floating in space, luckily Ushio Chan put enough food, water and oxygen in here to last for 3 years if rationed properly, unfortunately... I didn't ration it properly and I only have one bag of astronaut food left... I'm doomed...

As I was giving up on survival and looked out of the window I saw the pod was heading back to earth, a light on the panel was switched on, above it was written "Return to base" That meant someone had called the pod back and I was able to go home again. When the pod reached the airship again, I hauled myself up through the trapdoor and saw something I had never believed I'd see. Ushio Chan was the one who called the pod back, they had cuts all over their hands and a wound in their side, when they saw me they said "Thank cod I got you back. Your girlfriend, father and friends are in safe hands. However, everyone else is getting slaughtered down there." I had shouted "Why would you go killing everyone?!" And they just sighed before saying "If I was the one killing everyone, why would I bring you back and look like a train hit me?" That's when I noticed their shirt was covered in blood and they had a big bruise on their cheek, with blood dripping down the side of their head, left hand and arm.
A lot had changed since I had left earth and not in a good way. The most notorious villain was covered in their own blood and when I looked out of the window, I saw people going around killing each other. Ushio Chan had rolled up their sleeve and had started wrapping a bandage around it, I asked about my spy and they said "Funny story, they betrayed you and helped me. They then betrayed me to help the owner of this world. Who is a fricking god mind you!" they had finished wrapping up their arm so they started wrapping up their other hand before they said "They also ruined my new suit! Just look at my tie!" they held up their tie and the bottom half of it was falling off. I stared at them in disbelief, they could have died but they're more worried about their clothes. They said "What? Have I got something on my face?" I nodded and they went to wipe their face with a tissue and failed to get rid of the blood trickling down the side of their face so I took the tissue off them and wiped where the blood was, that's when they flinched. They had a gash on the side of their head, it seemed quite painful and it could get infected easily, I took the first aid kit off them and tended to the gash while asking "So how did you actually get all these injuries?" They stood up while rolling their sleeves down and said "Psychopaths and offenders being on guard is harder to get past than regular guards. Anyway, we've got to go." It was then the airship shook and Ushio fell to the ground. I helped them up and they quickly said "We've got to go now! It looks like they've caught up" They quickly grabbed a bag and dumped some gadgets in it before going up to the window with a chair and smashing it. Before I could comprehend anything, they grabbed my hand and jumped out of the window. I screamed as they were very calm and before we hit the ground several feet of snow appeared underneath us. Probably about 7 or 8 foot of it. Slowly it all started melting though and we were on the ground. I could tell Ushio's arm was hurting but they just grabbed my hand again and started running. We went deep into the forest before we stopped and Ushio practically collapsed onto the floor to rest, their breathing was very ragged, probably because of the amount of blood they had lost. They closed their eyes for a second and I said "You know, you may end up dying if you don't get help soon." They smiled with their eyes closed before leaning their head against the tree behind them and saying "As long as I get you to Miss Chan so you can be prepared to save the world then it doesn't matter if I live or die..." I stared at them in disbelief as they then got up wincing because of the pain they were in but just pushed past it all, "Come on, we'll be there soon if we keep walking." Despite the rain that started crashing down on us during our journey, they never stopped to rest again and even helped me when I was getting tired. After hours of walking, we reached a lakeside mansion. Ushio Smiled quite pitifully before collapsing, I noticed someone in the second-floor window before two servants rushed outside to help. I helped them pick Ushio up and take them inside, surprisingly they're lighter than normal for a guy. The servants took them into a seating area and a girl with blonde hair and brown eyes followed them closing the door behind her. I was just standing their wondering what was going to happen to Ushio when a voice said "By any chance are you the hero Ushio said she'd be bringing over for training. I recommend you get rid of that ridiculous costume before the training even begins, you're literally telling people to attack you by wearing that garbage." I looked up and saw a girl with brown hair and green eyes, she looked similar to Ushio but her aura was a lot different, She called up the stairs for a guy called Joey, when he arrived he was a bit smaller than the rest with brown hair and blue eyes, the girl said "Joey, Since you're useless at everything else, go get him fitted into something that won't draw as much attention to him please." , he looked like he was about to say something but was interrupted by her saying "And no, don't give him your unicorn onesie." Before she walked down the stairs and into the dining room where dinner was waiting for her. Everyone else started coming in one by one, Joey came to me and dumped a bunch of clothes in my arms before joining them, the servants and the blonde girl came out to join them. I grabbed one of their arms before asking "Will he be alright?" , they nodded before saying "She'll be fine, she just needs rest" I was confused about the reason why they said "she" my curiosity grew later on in the evening when the owner of the house explained to me, why I came here as she also referred to Ushio as a she, I asked her about it and she simply said "She's female." I was having a bit of trouble comprehending what she just told me and I must have had a funny reaction because she smiled for the first time since I met her. I had asked if I could visit Ushio and she led me to the attic. I knocked on the trapdoor and straight after I heard Ushio call "Come in." And so, I entered, the attic was obviously large but it was separated as if it was an apartment. Ushio was at her desk filling out a massive pile of paperwork. It was pretty much awkward silence until she said "What do you need Blaine?" I rushed to explain and said "Why didn't you tell me you were a girl?" that was when I realised, she knew my name and I shouted "How do you know my name?!", she sighed before spinning around on her chair and saying
"I didn't tell you I was a girl because you didn't ask and I read your file when I arrived in this country." I stared at her in disbelief at what she just said, I didn't understand what she meant and I was annoyed that they expected me to ask before they told me, that was when she said "Anyway, your training starts tomorrow so go downstairs and get some food before resting" They spun around on their chair again and went back to filling out paperwork.
The next day I started my training with Star Chan, she doesn't talk much and doesn't look strong but by the end of the session I was collapsed on the ground my body hurting all over and my pride completely demolished, a laugh was heard from the conservatory door, when I glanced up Ushio was sat on one of the couches watching while eating a brownie from a big tray of them. She looked highly amused from this scene and Star Chan just walked up to her and sat beside her, grabbing a brownie for herself. I managed to stand up and waddle towards them and when I went to get a brownie Star hit my hand away while saying "You've got to beat me in a fight before you can have one." I pointed to Ushio accusingly and Star carried on saying "Ushio defeated me in a fight long ago, it's been ages since she was in training. She started training at the age of 16." I stared at Ushio and she just looked back at me as if to say "What?" I just shook my head and carried on practicing.
I did that every day until one-night Ushio woke me up. It was about midnight and she said that we had to go and that we were being attacked. I heard people charging up the stairs and Ushio opened a secret door behind the bottom shelf of the book shelf. I crawled in not long after I heard the window creak open and she crawled in beside me, putting the books back to where they were and closing the secret door. I mentioned how cramped it was and she said "Well, I'm sorry. I made this as a hiding place for one person, not two. Besides if you weren't so big there wouldn't be a problem." I screamed "Hey!" and they covered my mouth with their hand saying "Are you trying to get us captured? Also, I feel pretty claustrophobic as well so I'll do this." I looked at her as she said "I'm Ushio Chan the White Rabbit." She suddenly disappeared and when I looked down, I saw her jacket, I lifted it up and saw a white rabbit wearing a suit when I stared at it, it then said "What're you looking at? I'm still the same person, just in a different form." We heard the trapdoor to the attic creak open and footsteps come closer, it sounded as if they were trashing the place. After a while we heard them say "They're not here!" before charging out of the room, Ushio turned back into human form before slowly opening the secret door, after looking through the gap between the shelf above and the books, she gently moved them out of the way before climbing out, as I followed I saw her room was completely trashed. Her paperwork scattered on the floor, furniture was turned upside down and her wardrobe was open with all her clothes on the floor. She just stared for a few minutes before picking up a pen and some paper off the desk and putting it in her pocket before saying "Come on, let's go." She climbed out of the window and I followed, it was then I realised how high off the ground we actually were. I gulped as I followed her over the slippery roof, she almost slipped luckily she managed to use her powers to stop herself from falling over the edge and she pointed over near where she could've fallen off, It was the lake, she got up and said "Do you trust me?" I shook my head frantically and she just smiled and said "Good, you shouldn't." before pushing me off the roof onto a slide made of ice.

When we were on the other side of the lake, she got rid of the slide and we headed into the woods. The trees now rid of all their leaves, stood there withering and looking shamefully down on us as the snowflakes fell to the earth.

We had nowhere to stay now and are responsible for saving the earth, we had no one to help us. We found that out when Star and her friends got arrested. That's when the question came to me, a very important question I should've asked a while ago. At that moment as we watched Star and the others' be taken away in the distant I asked "So... How did you become a bunny..?" I heard her sigh before saying "Joey put a spell on me one time and we haven't found a reversal spell. Anyway, lets go. You'll continue your training with me." She turned around, her eyes had turned the colour of ice and she was clenching her fists as she started charging off into the woods. I didn't know where we was going to go but I followed her anyway.
