Leaving comfy San Marcos de La Laguna, one night in Panajachel and bus journey to Quetzaltenengo, the second most populated city in Guatemala. Beautiful thermal springs and football with locals.
Today was a funny one. You know it is too cold when your coconut oil solidifies. The temperature in the mornings here are pretty chilly...I know i am being a pussy. Saying that I spent most of the morning in bed, icing the ankle and trying not to think about food. Only a few more hours until the bag would arrive and i could eat! Just distract yourself, what is the easiest way to waste time? Catch up on Sport and read.
I also started planning ahead which is rare, the things you do when you cannot eat... The thermal springs are booked for Tuesday, then Antigua for a couple days, and then the massive 11 hour mission to Flores! From there, It will be possible to take a day trip to Tikal which will be an unforgettable experience.
Lo and behold, my driver is here! No more calamities please..

No better way to break-fast.. eat watermelon! I hobbled around town searching for fruit. Eventually i made my way through the crowds of Church goers and fried chicken stalls and found what I was looking for.

Today has been one of those slow days you have when travelling, things just have not been flowing as freely as other days. I will follow the signs and chill out today, ice up the ankle, reflect and plan ahead, Sunday is the day of rest after all.
