I decided to turn right, and soon I hit a dead end. Huffing in annoyance, I turned around to make my way back, but was stopped by a stranger in the way. He began coming closer to me, and I nervously backed up against the wall behind me. When the man came close, I realized that he was one of the pirates who had ransacked the inn.

"The map, boy," he snarled, holding out his hand. In his other hand, he held a pistol. "Hand it over."

"I-I don't have it," I replied. "Please, just let me go."

The pirate just snorted before pulling the trigger on the pistol. I felt the sharp pain of a bullet pierce me, and I slid down the wall, leaving a trail of blood.

"Worthless boy," the pirate grunted before walking away to leave me to bleed out in the alleyway.
