"NO!"
Screams filled the night. Sirens going off waking up bystanders nearby. It was 10:30 when the fire started. The source of it was unknown. The family was trapped inside while Carson managed to escape through the back door. His white and grey fur was covered in dark smoke. He heard people yelling from the opposite side of the house. He whimpered.
Slowly, he inched away from the burning house into the dark woods behind him. He tried to save his family but he was pushed out the back door by his mother. His mother, his female owner, lead him as far as she can go to the back door. Her last words were; "We love you Carson, go and live your life. Find your mate! If we don't make it, just know we will forever love you! Now go and run!" Before she fainted.
Carson didn't want to make her upset so he quickly ran out the back door. Before he left he quickly made a promise to his now, most likely, deceased family. "I will avenge you. I will find the person who did this. I promise."
Carson could briefly see three shadow figures dash into the forest near his house but was too weak to pin them down, his exhaustion resulted to his powers being faint. So he couldn't use that either.
Carson turned to the forest and ran. He ran as fast as he could through the dark forest. He was scared, angry, sad, and determined.
He has heard stories about the types of creatures that live in the woods. Wolves, Vampires, different Animal Shifters, and other dangerous species along with the nondangerous ones. He hopes that if his family did make it out then they would come looking for him. To bring him back home.
Carson slowly came to a stop by a small lake. He was breathing heavily, hungry, and exhausted. He ran for hours. Tilting his head down towards the blue water, he sighed through his snout. After a few minutes, he laid on his stomach, putting his fluffy head down on his grey and white smoke covered paws. He closed his eyes and drifted off into a deep sleep. His body was alerted just in case something was coming to him.
A/N: I know I didn't put much detail into what or who started the fire but it was a character that is soon to be introduced! I've seen comments about how it could be like a house object but I promise you it's not😭
