I rang the doorbell to Yaoyorozu's huge house, I had no idea that this girl had this much damn money. She swung the door open excitedly pulling me in the house, once I got over the initial shock I looked around the expensively decorated interior of the house

"Emiko you made it! Come join us I just put the tea on it should be out shortly" I smiled and kicked my shoes off at the door following her into what I assumed was the dining room, nearly half of class 1-A was sat around the table. I was greeted with a chorus of 'his' and 'hellos' as I rounded the table, Kirishima waved me over

"Sit over here, Hayato" I settled in the empty chair between Kirishima and Midoriya
"How are ya?"

"Just fine. I had no clue Yaoyorozu had this much money. It's kind of insane" he nodded

"I don't think any of us had a clue" I laughed lightly turning when Momo entered the room, she served us all tea and we began studying. I finally got to know most of my classmates and it turned out to be a fun time, I was also able to mostly catch up on what I'd missed which is always great. 2 hours passed before mostly everyone was about ready to leave, the only people left were Kirishima, Ochako, Iida and Mina Ashido. We all sat gathered in Momo's livingroom, I was sat on the two seater couch beside Kirishima who I'd grown very close with.

"So, Emiko" I looked up from my phone at Momo

"Momo" she smiled leaning forward

"I know we just spent forever studying together but I can't help but wonder...how did you get so good?" I raised an eyebrow
"I mean you're pretty talented for your first year at an actual hero training school"

"Yeah. It's rare that you meet someone our age who has such amazing control over their quirk so early-you're amazing " Kirishima exclaimed throwing his arm behind me across the back of the couch, I laughed lightly biting the inside of my cheek

"I guess I've just had a lot of time to practice, you know? I got my quirk at such an early age, from my father. We have similar abilities and I guess he was just excited so he started training me early, he was convinced that my quirk was the more advanced version of his and that I was destined to be the next number 1 hero" I explained smiling at the memory of my dad and his excitement when I'd first shown him my quirk

"You're dad sounds amazing Emiko, and what about your mom? You're so great and gorgeous, I'm sure she's the same right?" I froze at the mention of my mother, immediately thinking of my real mother. The room grew unusually quiet and I swallowed the lump in my throat

"It's getting late, I should get home my parents are expecting me back. Thank you for this, Momo" Ochako hopped to her feet giving me a sad look

"Oh, Emiko. I'm so sorry- I didn't now! How could I-" I shook my head

"It's fine, you did nothing wrong. I'll see you all on Monday, have a good weekend" I smiled and slipped on my shoes leaving quickly, I looked back and saw Kirishima leaving behind me.

"Hey, wait!" He caught up to me walking beside me

"Are you alright?" I just nodded tucking my hands into my pockets, he sighed

"It's dark, at least let me walk you home" despite my protests he continued to walk beside me, cracking jokes and making me laugh to lighten my mood. As we got closer to my house, he suddenly got serious

"Hey, can I ask you a question?" He asked stopping just outside my door, I nodded looking up at him

"What's going on between you and Bakugo?" I-huh? He frowned lightly, rubbing the back of his head
"Yeah.. he's my best friend, so I know him well by now. He doesn't really care much about anything- but you're different. You're doing something to him he talks about you more than he talks about Midoriya, and that's saying a lot" he chuckled dryly, I was quiet as I listened to him

"And the way he watches you. Everything you do he notices, and the way you watch him sometimes. You guys are exactly the same, and you're always competing I just- basically I'm asking do you like him, Emiko?" Do I like Bakugo? I would think that the answer would be no, but the more I thought about it the less sure I was that I didn't like him even a little

"No, Kirishima" Even though I wasn't sure, I answered before I could think about it any longer
"No, I don't like Bakugo" he released a breath, dropping his arms to his side

"Good. Because... I think I'm starting to like you and that would be a little weird don't you think?" I froze, my mouth opening slightly
"Tonight was fun, Emiko. See you Monday!"  He smiled widely and waved at me before walking away, I didn't move, even after he disappeared from my sight I stood planted in my spot.

"Emiko?" Anahi's voice snapped me from my daze, I turned to see her standing in the doorway confused

"Oh, hey mom. You're up late" I commented sliding past her and into the house, she smiled faintly rubbing her eyes

"Your father's snoring is shaking the walls. I'm thinking of making him sleep outside with the damn squirrels" she joked closing the door behind me
"Kidding. I couldn't sleep, I've got a lot on my mind"

We sat on the couch together, she glanced at me

"You're home earlier than I thought you be. What happened?" She lifted her hands allowing me to lay my head in her lap, I closed my eyes while she played with my hair

"They asked me about my mom" her hands froze, but she quickly recovered

"Oh?" I nodded, she hummed lightly.

"Thank you, Anahi"

"For?"

"When everybody else left me. And hated me, even after what happened with Lokiro...and my mom-" I heard her sniffle faintly and I sat up to face her, she rubbed her eyes lightly

"Emiko, stop. There is no need to thank me, I could never hate you or treat you badly for anything out of your control. I could never hate you for anything your mother did, or what happened to my son. You're such a kind soul, despite all the tragedy that surrounds you. I will and always have loved you like my own daughter." Even though she spoke faintly, her voice was heavy and grew stronger the longer she spoke. She gave me a kiss on the forehead before ruffling my hair and standing up

"Get some sleep kid, I love you" she walked away leaving out through the back door and closing it gently behind her, I walked into my room stripping and taking out my colored contacts. I pulled my hair from the bun and let it fall loosely around my arms. I was tired, but my racing mind was unforgiving. After tossing and turning for an hour I caved reaching into my nightstand and pulling out my sleeping pills, I stared at them for a moment.

*ding*

My phone screen turned on illuminating the dark room, I swiped it from the nightstand and read the screen. It was a text from an unknown number

Meet me at the school. Now

I frowned. Who the hell is this? Then I remembered, Bakugo. How did he get my number? I sighed getting up and pulling on some black shorts and white tank top with my white vans, I left my hair down and grabbed my phone. It read 2:15 am. I made it to the school by 2:18 thanks to my quirk, I stopped at the gate which was closed. Bakugo was no where in sight, then in the distance I saw a small figure on the roof with its back to me. I jumped into the air and landed on the roof just behind it, Bakugo sat there with his feet hanging over the edge of the building. I exhaled gently running a hand through my long hair to move it from my face

"You wanted to talk"
