After a solid minute of receiving horrified looks from his friends, Russell slowly lifted his drink to sip his soda casually again.
"RUSSELL!" Sunil quickly shouted and stood up, dusting his sweater off in a flustered manner.
"Oh uhhh... hey Rusty!" Vinnie chuckled nervously. He quickly stood up and straightened out his jacket, and then attempted to clear his throat in a casual manner.
"Back so soon? We didn't know!" Sunil smiled and laughed louder than usual, rubbing the back of his head.
"You didn't get my texts?" Russell rose a brow and held up his cellphone. "Or were you two too busy making out?"
"... How much did you see?" Sunil spoke slowly, glaring daggers at the orange-haired boy.
"Ohoho... I saw the series of unfortunate events unfold before my eyes if that's what you mean," Russell snickered and then continued drinking his soda.
"Stop drinking your soda so casually!" Sunil rushed over to the other and poked his chest. "Why didn't you say anything?"
"Yeah!... Creep!" Vinnie pointed.
Russell bursted out into laughter and nearly dropped all the food he had gotten for all of them. He wiped a tear from the corner of his eye, and then sighed as he calmed down. "Look guys, I don't care what you do behind my back—"
"It was an accident and you know it!" Sunil hissed.
"What he said!" Vinnie pointed and nodded in agreement.
"I know, I know, I'm just teasing you guys. Still, though. I don't care. If you want it to be a secret, I promise I won't tell a soul," Russell chuckled and crossed his arms, leaning back against the doorframe. "Sorry I didn't speak up sooner. I was just kind of surprised to walk in on... that."
Sunil groaned and slumped all the way down to the floor to lay flat on the ground, and Vinnie just stared at him.
"Oh come on, Sunil. We can trust good ol' Rusty!" Vinnie tried to encourage. "Besides, it's not like... it was that bad..." he smiled sheepishly as his voice faded towards the ending of that sentence. He sort of regretted saying that just now, but he was only trying to make his best friend feel better about the situation.
Sunil glanced over at Vinnie and opened his mouth to say something, however, he quickly clamped it shut. He was about to admit that the kissing part really wasn't that bad—actually, he found Vinnie to be a surprisingly good kisser despite only meeting lips with him for a short moment—but that's beside the point. He couldn't just say that so casually. He was mostly just embarrassed that Russell, OF ALL PEOPLE, had to be standing there to witness the accidental kiss.
Russell walked into the room and sat on the edge of Sunil's bed. He continued sipping his soda and watched as the two boys exchanged somewhat awkward glances. Sunil then directed his gaze back towards the orange-haired nerd and sat up properly.
"How do we KNOW we can trust you, Russell? Hm?" Sunil huffed as he crossed his arms.
"I dunno," Russell smirked and shrugged.
"I think he's enjoying this too much." Vinnie squinted at Russell as he walked over to help Sunil off of the floor. Sunil gave Vinnie a small smile as he was lifted off the ground, and was beginning to compose himself finally.
"Yeah, because it's funny!" Russell chuckled, nearly dropping his soda in the process of laughing softly.
"How???" Sunil gripped onto Russell's bow tie and growled. "I don't find this situation amusing in the slightest!"
