Arthit POV
I was not sure what to feel about this. What to feel about Kong. For all I knew, deep inside I was feeling guilty.
However, I was going to set aside my problem with him.We were on our way to meet Som-O Asuna, a witch that can tell a prophecy and any location only to the supernaturals. She now lived in the outskirts of Ravika City, so it might take a while. Bright and I knew her but we were never closed.
Bright stepped on the front porch and whirled to face us. "Don't worry guys, Som-O and I got way back as...well whatever that was." He frowned at what he was saying. "Have been...before."
I stood beside Bright. "You sure never stop flirting."
When we went into the living room, I didn't expect that there was a large yellow Burmese python hanging on one of the pillars. Bright jumped back and I slapped his head.
Kong and Third followed us into another room.
Som-O was solving a puzzle. She was wearing a black dress, and her hair loosed on her back.
Her gaze met Bright's. "Ahh...Bright Khai Serano." Som-O said his full name.
"Som-O" Bright waved his hand.
Som-O peered over to Bright. "I knew that one day you're gonna come back. What delicious service should I offer you?" She said with a flirtatious tone. Bright wrapped arm around Som-O's waist.
Third cleared his throat. Som-O's smile faded, I thought she was looking at Third. "You..." She held up her hand to Kong. "You have a touch of destiny, fire demon slayer Kongpob Marvel."
"You know me?" Kong frowned.
She leanwd forward with her seductive smile.
"I thought you know me!" Bright scratched his head.
I immediately rushed to Som-O and smiled at her. Am I being jealous? Fucking shit. No, I wouldn't be!
"A bit of not introducing here" I interrupted.
Som-O glanced at me, reading my thoughts. "Ah, now I understand." I spun her around to go back to her table.
"What do you understand?" I blinked.
"We've come for help and we're not leaving without it." Third said grimly,
"Come" said Som-O. We gathered in her office. We sat on the cushioned chairs. Bright sitting next to me, across us were Kong and Third.
"You know I demand payments." Som-O said in a serious voice.
"Well, you'll get paid, darling." Bright smiled, he rose up and walked into the shelves of magic books.
"I'm being serious, Bright." Som-O said.
I tucked my hand into my pocket and place money, the price from Capture the flag. Bright and I spared half for the money. "We're looking for this, and where it can be found." I put the paper in the table. Som-O frowned at the key, she took the paper and reads the riddle my mom left.
"You must go to southwest. The key you seek is hidden underneath the house.
Red as ruby. Walls of green. Salt in air. Break the ruby. Find the key." She read out loud again. Then she handed back the paper to me."What's that supposed to mean?" Bright asked.
"The symbol of the circle is the shape of an ouroboros, ancient symbol that means life, death and rebirth, and also symbol for underground and underworld." Som-O traced her jeweled finger across the horizontal to the star shape. "It's under a lighthouse."
"The only lighthouse that exists in Ravika is really in southwest." Kong said.
"The riddle is just simple..but you'll have a hard time looking for it."
Then I told Som-o everything about the Shadow Curse's plan. "Whoever possesses the Chest, he or she can open a portal."
"Kobra. The legendary snake demon. The shapeshifter. The bringer of chaos. He is once the angel that rides on a two-headed dragon. He went against heaven because he wants to be powerful. Consumed with pride and greed, he fell. In a hell dimension, he rides with 20 legions of demons."
"That's why he wants to bring them here." Kong muttered.
"Then what is so important-" Bright begins.
Som-O cuts him off. "The key leads to the Skull's chest, of course!"
"So we have to defeat him." Bright said, determined. "Problem solved!" He raised a thumbs up.
"Not so fast, young man." Som-O made a clicking noise. "the older the demon, the more it gets powerful, much more than anyone realizes. The Demon slayers know how to kill them but it might take in a rough fight. Doesn't it?" She looked at Kong for confirmation.
Kong nodded. "If he knows the location of the key, we're all doomed."
"There's a possibility that he already knows where, but doesn't know how to find it without the riddle." Som-O said.
"If he gets the key, we're all going to see what he can do firsthand, especially the 20 legions." I added, narrowing my gaze to Som-O.
"How about his accomplice inside the University?" Third switched his gaze to me and Kong.
"I'm going to find out who, on the night of the ball" Kong replied.
"And how can you find him or her?" I asked.
"I'm a fire demon slayer. I know my duty as one of the best in Paranormal Corp. The stakes are high now." Kong answered me.
Som-O's darkest eyes pierced through me. "Once Kobra, his accomplice, and the shadow curses achieve their goal, they'll be unstoppable."
