Hi! Holidays are almost over:( Anyways- I'll try to be more active ! Here's the new chap❤️
___________________________It was late afternoon on Wednesday. I sat at my dining table and corrected my students' tasks. My concentration wasn't really there, but I had no choice.
I haven't been to the forest since Sunday because I didn't know how to behave in front of Peter Pan. The symptoms he explained to me were all true, but how can you be in love with someone you don't know?
I ran my hand through my hair and put my pen aside when I was done. I packed everything up and put it in my bag. And what's next? I wanted to distract myself, but how?
I got up and went to the fridge. Eating has always been the solution, even if I've neglected it lately. Unfortunately, I found out that my fridge was empty. I sighed and closed it again. Maybe I should go shopping again.
So I went to the entrance area to put on my shoes. I grabbed my jacket, opened my front door and when I wanted to go I saw Alice standing in front of my door.
"Where are you going?" She asked with her arms crossed. Woah, she seems to be in a bad mood.
"I'm glad to see you too," I said. "I wanted to go out and get food." I answered her question. She shook her head and entered my apartment. I feel like I have a problem.
"It can wait, I have to talk to you," she said. Oh no. She had that undertone that I didn't like at all. So I put my jacket aside and followed her.
"What's up?" I sighed. She looked around and, like last time, opened the window again first.
"It's about Andrews," she said. "Why didn't you give him a chance?" she asked reproachfully. I sighed, so that's what it's about.
"Did he tell you?" I asked. Did he call her afterwards and tell her every single word?
"I asked him how it was going between you two and he said that you got along very well but you didn't want more with him." she explained. I frowned.
"What? Why are you asking him and not me? "I asked and crossed my arms as well.
"Because you don't tell me anything anymore!" She replied insulted. "I know that you are grieving but I am your best friend. Also when I asked you recently you said you like him!" she said. I rolled my eyes.
"Yes, I know, I do but.." I started and she looked at me expectantly. "..I was so unsure." I meant. I didn't want to have to lie anymore.
"Unsure of what? You are perfect for each other. I'd get it if you'd say that he wasn't your type, but he was, wasn't it? "She said and I nodded. I took a deep breath.
"Listen, I'm going to tell you something, you can't tell anyone, and especially not Izzy," I said, and she frowned.
"Okay, I promise." She said. Well, that was good.
"There's someone else," I said, and her eyes got big.
"What? Who? What's his name? Where does he come from? "She asked, astonished and curious. I sighed.
"That's the problem, I don't know. I don't know his name or where it comes from, "I admitted. She looked at me in confusion.
"So you never talked?" She asked but I shook my head.
"No, we talk almost every night," I replied. She didn't seem to understand anything and I couldn't blame her. "I see him in the forest every night. I saw him for the first time, about a day after my parents' funeral . " I explained.
"He was standing in the forest and didn't speak at first. Two days later we talked for the first time. Since then almost every evening. I usually call him Peter Pan. "I said and she looked at me incredulously.
"Alec, that is -"
"Yes, Alice, I know what that sounds like, but it is true." I defended myself. "He really helped me process my parents' death and he still does. He means a lot to me." I said. Alice sighed and put her hand on my shoulders.
"I can't believe the whole thing, Alec," she replied. I frowned now.
"Do you think I'm lying?" I asked in surprise and she shook her head.
"No, but I think you're going through a hard time and-"
"I'm not crazy, Alice!" I defended myself. I took a step back and shook off her hand. Alice sighed.
There was silence now. She didn't believe me. My own best friend thought I was crazy.
"I'll prove it to you," I said. "We're going to the forest now and you'll see him." I meant.
"I don't know, Alec," she replied.
"Please, I know he'll be back," I said, and after she thought about it a moment, Alice agreed. We went out together and made our way to the forest.
"What did you want in the forest back then?" She asked. I shrugged.
"I wanted to calm down. I was sad." I replied and she nodded. We didn't talk much because there was a strange tension between us. I hoped that it would come off when she saw Peter Pan.
We were there 15 minutes later. The sun was almost gone. Alice looked around intently.
"It's really creepy here," she said and I shrugged.
"I was never really scared here," I said. I stared into the forest, but I didn't see anyone. It was just an empty forest.
"So where's 'Peter Pan' now?" She asked, emphasizing his name. I rolled my eyes.
"He should be here any second," I said. "Peter!" I called into the forest and I could hear my echo. Nothing came back. Alice looked at me expectantly.
"Peter Pan !!" I called again and louder. Again nothing came back. Where was he? Why did the forest seem emptier than usual?
"Alec, he's not here. Maybe he doesn't exist, "she said. I looked at her shocked.
"You mean I imagine it all?" I asked angrily. She sighed. "I'm not crazy, Alice. I know what's real and is unreal!" I said insulted and walked away from her.
"Alec!" She called but I didn't react to it. I was too upset for it.
