~Jess's Apartment~

Jess's POV:

"Ok."

I knew that I would probably regret living with them but I didn't care at the moment. All I wanted to do was crawl under a rock somewhere that Jake could never ever find me...

"Why don't you go ahead and grab everything that's important and we'll take that home and run you to the hospital," Tommy said.

"What? No way. I cannot go to the hospital."

"Jess you need to go, you might have a few broken ribs or something," Nikki said.

"They're going to ask what happened and then what am I supposed to say?"

"You tell them the truth." Nikki said.

"I can't. He might come back for me again," I said shuttering, not wanting to say his name.

"Jess he's not going to hurt you anymore especially not now that we're here for you," Nikki said and Tommy agreed.

"I'll go to the doctor but if they ask what happened I am not going to tell them anything," I said looking at all of them.

"Fine," Nikki said.

I got up to go pack my stuff and Nikki followed me. When we got to my room he shut the door and stayed quiet, looking down at the floor.

"What do you want Nikki," I said already aggravated by his presence.

"I wanted to talk about last night," he said quietly.

"which part? The part where we talked all night and then you had a make-out session from Vanity or the part where I was brutally beaten by my shitty ex?"

"The Vanity part," he said.

"Are you two back together?"

"Yes, but I want you to know why I did it and why I'm going to break up with her as soon as I get back home," he said taking a step towards me.

"Listen Nikki, you two are dating and I don't want anything to do with it. I started to like you and that was my mistake. I thought maybe we were starting something genuine, but I guess not." I said not looking up from my bag. I felt my heart shatter into a billion pieces.

"But that's just it Jess, it meant so much to me and the only reason me and Vanity kissed was because she forced herself on me. I don't like her at all. The only reason I asked her out again was because I thought you liked Tommy."

"Why would you think I liked Tommy."

"Because I saw you two outside on the steps smiling and laughing and I thought it meant something more than what it was meant to be," he said.

"I'm not like that Nikki. I don't make people like me and then hurt them. Did you sleep with Vanity last night?" I asked.

"No, I didn't."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes Jess. I know I didn't sleep with her," he sounded very convincing and I couldn't help but forgive him.

"Ok, I believe you." I said.

"Do you forgive me for getting jealous," he said and looked at the floor and I think I saw him blush a little.

"Yes but only because I din't think many people can make you blush like you did just now." I said and laughed.

Nikki walked closer to you until your bodies were touching and brushed the hair away from your face.

"So does that mean I can do this," he said and leaned down and kissed you slowly for the first time.

Everything in the world stopped, the pain you felt physically and emotionally, the thoughts that flooded your head, etc. You pulled apart but kept your foreheads touching.

"So are we okay now?" Nikki said pulling away.

"Not until you fix the Vanity stuff, but so far we're on the right track." I said smiling.

~Motley's Apartment~

On the way to the boy's apartment I couldn't help but wonder why Vanity was there last night. How everyone's described her and from what I saw last night she doesn't seem to be one that gives up easily. I figured Nikki probably told her to leave or something after she got annoying.

When we walked into their place I noticed it was just as trashed as it had been last night. I was about to sit down on the couch when I heard some noise from Nikki's bedroom. We all looked at his doorway until Nikki spoke up.

"Relax guys, Mick's here remember?"

But at that moment a tan girl with tangled hair emerged from the room wrapped in sheets and we all just stared in horror. We watched as she ran over to Nikki and jumped in his arms, wrapping her legs around him. None of us knew what to do because we didn't know what was going on. Nikki dropped her before she could kiss him and she landed on the ground hard. I laughed to myself not wanting to start anything.

"What's your problem?" She said rudely.

"I'm breaking up with you," He said, glaring at her.

"What the fuck Nikki! Is it because you're with this whore now?" Vanity said pointing at me.

"Don't talk about her like that!" Nikki said angrily.

"Whatever Nikki! Fuck you! I'm going to go put on clothes and I'm leaving!" She said and I couldn't help but wonder why she was naked in the first place.
