I don't know if they noticed this or not; or they did notice and just didn't mention it, but if you look closely at the chair, there's a rope on there.

This first theory is based on something 8-BitRyan said in his first episode of Little Nightmares II: "Is this the detention room?"
Here's the first theory.
• Theory #1 Detention Suicide

It's hard to see but if you look closely there's tally marks all over the walls. This person must have been in there for what looks like 50–70 days, maybe even more.
Depending on when they were sent to detention, they must have been there for several weeks, months even.
The loneliness and isolation drove them into a state of depression, then they tried to end it all, but either refused, or was finally let out after all that time.
Another thing those tally marks could be, which is much darker — it could be how many years this child was trapped there. Meaning this child, depending on his age at the time would be 50–70+ years old. They were miserable and tried to end it all, but died of old age instead.

• Theory #2: The Broadcast Tower
After the Broadcast Tower screwed everything and everyone up, one person had made a bunker which is the room we see in the school.
The tally marks are how many days this apocalypse has been going on. And much like the other theory, they got tired of it and tried to end it all, but were found by the now deformed teacher and killed.
