It was late the evening and Maya put Raven back in her crib.
She sighed as she does realize it doesn't help pretending everything is fine.
She heads to the kitchen hearing the doorbell.
"It's open," Maya said.
"You know it's rude ignoring someone's call," Josh said and Maya sighed.
"Sorry, I've been at the hospital the entire afternoon. Raven was sick so I had to find out what is going on," Maya said.
"Poor thing. She okay now?" Josh asked.
"Fever is still high but she will be fine. I have antibiotics for her and so. You don't have to check up on us so much. I'm not that useless," Maya said.
"That is not why I am here. I'm worried, Maya. And as it seems to me with very good reason. You can't cope on your own," Josh said.
"I have to. I just have to cope with her," Maya said.
"Maya," Josh said.
"She's all I have, Josh. Our parents are gone and I can't get them back so I have to figure out a way to get us through. Can you please just leave? It's late and I'm pretty sure you have to head home," Maya said.
"Call me if you need me," Josh said and was gone.
