Chapter 10

Ryn Pov

As we walked down the road we came from, I looked down as we walked, It was night by now and even though I had shown my abilities to them, I still felt uneasy as to what they think of me.

"You're positive that was Dart?" Lucas asked

" Yes. He had the same exact yellow pattern on his butt." Dustin said,

"He was tiny two days ago," Max said,

"Well, he's molted three times already," he said,

"Malted?" Steve asked confused

"Molted." he corrected "Shed his skin to make room for growth like hornworms." I began to zone out as I came to a stop and knelt down touching the ground, something was off

"Ryn," Steve asked, I looked up at him and stood back up and continued walking forward.

" When's he gonna molt again?" Max asked

" It's gotta be soon. When he does, he'll be fully grown, or close to it and so will his friends." He said,

"Yeah, and he's gonna eat a lot more than just cats," Steve said I felt Lucas mood change 

" Wait, a cat? Dart ate a cat?" Lucas asked 

"No, what? No." he lied,

"What are you talking about? He ate Mews." Steve said, I rolled my eyes and jabbed his ribs to make him shut up.

"Mews? Who's Mews?" Max questioned,

"It's Dustin's cat," Steve answered

"Steve!" Both Dustin and I yelled

"I knew it! You kept him!" Lucas said

"No! No.  No, I... No, I...  He missed me. He wanted to come home." Dustin explained, but I knew Lucas didn't fall for that.

"Bullshit!" he said

"I didn't know he was a Demogorgon, okay?" 

"Oh, so now you admit it?"

"Guys, who cares? We have to go." Max said

"I care! You put the party in jeopardy! You broke the rule of law!" Lucas yelled

"So did you!" Dustin yelled,

"What?"

"You told a stranger the truth!" he said, pointing the flashlight at Max's face. I saw Steve sigh and look into the distance 

"A stranger?" Max scoffed

"You wanted to tell her, too!"

"But I didn't, Lucas, okay?" he said, then I heard screeching in distance and I looked at Steve

"I didn't tell her! We both broke the rule of law, okay? So we're even. We're even."

"No, no! We're not even. Don't even try that. Your stupid pet could have ate us for dinner!"

"That was not my fault!" Dustin yelled I walked over the Steve as we both looked out

" Hey, Guys?" Steve said, I felt my body shift into my wolf form just in case something happened.

"He wasn't gonna eat us."

"He was crawling to come say hello?" Lucas yelled,

"Guys!" Steve yelled,  they turn to us and the screeching continued he began to walk forward and the others followed but I waited for Max.

"No, no, no. Hey, guys, why are you headed towards the sound?" She yelled " Hello? Hello?" she said, as she began to follow them and so did I. We came up to a small hill that overlooked the town I heard the screeching continues, and I let out a growl.
