Chapter 6

I'm so stupid, I can't believe I skipped an update. Sorry, chapter was sitting there ready to be uploaded but somehow I managed to forget... opps anyway, late update but hope yous enjoy!

Ellie's P.O.V

He opens the door and a shock look spreads across his face, it turns to confusion and then anger. Oh no.

"H-hey" I say awkwardly

"What are you doing here?" He asks

"Umm, I lost my house keys and I didn't know where else to go" I reply

"Oh so you thought you could just come running back to me? After what happened I thought I'd never see you again" he says

"I know, I'm sorry, but I.. please can I come in? I'm freezing and I really need a change of clothes, and I didn't have no where else to go" I beg him, this is really awkward and a bit embarrassing but I couldn't sleep outside on my doorstep.

He sighs "sure, come on in, you know where the bathroom is. Go get a shower and I'll grab you some clothes" he says

"Thanks Max" I smile thankfully at him "I really appreciate it" I tell him as I walk into his house

I sigh as I flop down onto his bed, I've always loved his shower and the way the water just pelted down onto you. It was heaven. I really needed it and it made me feel so much better and relaxed. I sat up on his bed and began to dry myself off and get into one of his t-shirts and a pair of his boxers. His trousers were all too big on me so this would have to do. I didn't mind though because his t-shirt stopped just above my knee so nothing other than leg was showing.

I walked into his living room as soon as I was finished and sat down onto the sofa across from him. "So what happened to you?" He asks

I sigh and tell him everything, about how I went out last night with Rachel, got kidnapped and then Kai showing up earlier and saving me then us arguing and me walking home.

I've always trusted Max and I still do, even though we broke up and I haven't seen him in like 4 weeks I still love him and trust him. I left out the part of the story about why I got kidnapped, just because I didn't want him finding out too much information on Kai. I know I trust him but I couldn't tell him that, other than that I told him everything. By the end of it I hadn't even realised when he got up and came over to me and held me, I didn't even know I was crying. I hug him back. I've missed him so much.

"I'm here for you always!" He says

"I'm so sorry" I cried even harder into his chest.

"Why are you sorry?" He asks

"For breaking up with you over Kai, believe me I really didn't want to do it!" I tell him

He sighs "I know you didn't, and as much as I hate why you done it, I understand" he says

I look up at him and wipe my tears. "Really?" I ask

He smiles "It shows you care" he says

I smile back and him and give him another hug. When I pull back his lips crash down onto mine. Without thinking I instantly respond to the kiss and kiss him back.

All of that time we spent away with each other and how much we missed each other really showed. I knew this was a bad idea, because even though Kai can't see this, and he left me basically saying that he was done with me I just can't shake the bad feeling away that if I get back with Max, he'll get hurt.

I pull away from the kiss to catch my breath, Max takes this as a chance to start kissing my neck. I moan as he bites and sucks on my neck, leaving a hickey. Then I realise what I'm doing and push him away.

"We can't" I say

He looks at me, I could see the hurt in his eyes, I feel so bad. "Why not?" He asks

I couldn't bring myself to tell him but from the look on his face I knew he knew what I was thinking.

"Kai.." he says

I sigh "I'm sorry, bu-"

He cuts me off  "I get it, you don't want me to get hurt, but Kai left you this time, and from what you told me he practically said he wanted nothing to do with you" he says

"I know,  but I know what he's like, he says things and then takes them back and I just have a bad feeling about this" I tell him

He nods "I get it" he says, what he does next really confuses me. He smirks

Why is he smirking?

"But.." he says, I look at him with a raised eyebrow and gesture for him to continue "Kai doesn't have to find out" he says

I think for a minute, he's right, I mean we dated for a year before Kai found out last time. But then again, he found out and look what happened. "I don't know Max" I tell him

"You can't let him control your life Ellie, otherwise your not living" he says

"Your right" I say "yeah, your right! If I want to be with you. I will, Kai is not my boyfriend and he sure as hell isn't the boss of me" I say before kissing him again
