Boris' PoV

"... It was bold of you to assume, that I wouldn't be able to finish what my mother once started, gentlemen."

"B-But…"

"... I-I don't… understand…"

"Mr. Filipova… I have to ask you something."

"Hmm… Alright. Go ahead, then."

"... How, sir? How did you do this?"

"I can tell you how I did this. It's quite simple, really. I've been researching materials ever since I was 17, materials I've been relying on today, simply because I knew that finally, it would be enough. Enough to get you down. Enough to make you kneel. As you already heard it, I started researching all these things when I was 17. Today, I'm 32. Look where time brought me."

Yeah… Look where time brought you… You're not here anymore, that's where it brought you…
Yet… All of this wasn't supposed to happen in even the slightest to you.

I was there when it happened. The whole trial along, I sat in my seat in the audience, watching how it all went down, open-mouthed, I admit. Never did I think that he would be just as amazing as his mother, if not even better than her. But of course, I always encouraged him. Always believed in him. Always told him to never give up on his dreams, anything at all.
And he didn't. Even when the flames reached out for him.

So… Now, after 104, if not even almost 105 years had passed, to hear this one sentence from Ms. Tamel about the trial against her father… It only hurt oh so much more.

"And who is your lawyer, Ms. Tamel?"

"... It's… It's Dano Filipova, sir. He's my lawyer."

… And I was dumb enough to deem it impossible, though I've already seen him again after this long time. Vlad and Antanasia can confirm it.

Of course, we had a long conversation after this interview.

"What the hell, Lee?"

"I'm sorry, it just slipped out!"

The girl looked extremely distressed. Meanwhile, I myself was pacing in through the lobby of the courthouse.

"Dano isn't back yet! What makes you think we'll get him back before the trial?!"

"HE DOES IT FOR FREE, BORIS! MAMA CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY FOR A LAWYER RIGHT NOW!"

I whipped my head back around to face the poor girl, distress written on my own face as well as on hers.

"THAT WASN'T WHAT I WAS IMPLYING ON, LEELO! HE ISN'T HERE, IN THIS WORLD, YET IS WHAT I MEAN!"

Only when she started crying did I notice my mistake. But... I was too scared and distressed to apologize to her about it.
I just couldn't...

"By the stars... This is so going to be a complete fail. What were you thinking, Leelo?!"

"I-I'm sorry, Mr. Stefanov... Please, I... I'm so sorry..."

Another voice then suddenly chimed in on our... rather heated conversation. And the person didn't sound happy.

"Excuse me, sir, but could you please stop making my girlfriend cry? If anything, you should apologize to her, she did nothing wrong!"

If only you knew, Jackson... But you weren't there.

... I was crying myself at this point, not even trying to hide the upcoming tears when I stared at Jackson in despair.
