It was one of those rare, tranquil afternoons where the whole world seemed to be at peace. The sky was covered by White cotton clouds. And truth be told, Sana would have loved to spend the afternoon walking near the Han River if it wasn't for the whirlpool of anger and frustration she was desperate to dissipate but instead she's in a practice room at JYP Entertainment with the man she is angry with."So, do you want to start talking," A sudden voice taut with irritation echoed through the cold night, "Or should I?"
Sana tore her gaze from the floor to meet the eyes of a certain dark-haired male in ground of her. The one who she loved with all her heart could offer, the one who he hoped felt the same for her.
The room was dark, but the dim ray of light through the window was sufficient for Sana to see the contorted expression the older male had plastered on. It was such a shame she couldn't kiss the frown away from Jongkook, given the supposing cold war they were having.
The moment Sana's sight landed on the idol-actor, she realised just how far they've come from the day they first met. The days that passed were so great in number that she had long lost count. But every time she saw Jongkook's smile, it was as if time reverted back to the beginning of their relationship and Sana found herself smiling too. It's funny how they were both so much happier, so much more vibrant and filled with life then And now, they were both falling apart.
"What's there to say?" Sana whispered as she unconsciously tightened her balled fists.
Jongkook surveyed his lover before him, trying to figure out just why they both felt like strangers now. Excelling in many aspects earned him the title as the "Ts", but understanding other's emotions wasn't exactly his forte and it frustrated him. Because though he may never admit it, he too wants to be closer and more affectionate with Sana.
Jongkook gave a soft sigh before taking small steps forward, "Explaining why you've flat out ignored me for a month would be great."
"I did not."
"Yes you did Sana."
Sana let out a dry, humourless laugh. "And what exactly makes you say so?"
There was a pause and seconds ticked by before a response was heard.
"Maybe because I stopped feeling your love, Sana Maybe because instead of spending time with me you'd much rather be with MJ."
Jungkook came to a halt a few feet away from the younger female, closing the distance between them. But it wasn't enough for Sana. Jongkook would never be as close as Sana longed for him to be, no matter how many miracles she had prayed for.
"I'm tired, Jongkook." Sana closed her eyes, and savoured the bitter taste of the older's name which was once sweet. "I don't think I can continue doing this any longer. No matter what happens your always busy. Whenever I need you're not there. I need someone who will be by my side whenever I need him. Your always doing something, whether that is filming a drama or a movie, making solo music, practicing. You're never there for me! Your there for everyone but me! But yes, I've been hanging out with MJ-Oppa these day, but it's because you are never there and I needed someone whereas he was!"
How long were they going to continue with this game of tug and release?
Sana was tired of everything, but Jongkook on the other hand, could not hide the shock which so evidently stained his beautiful features.
"What are you talking about?" His voice strained through gritted teeth.
Jongkook had been at such a high demand these days with practicing for his first Solo tour, getting offers for movies and dramas, leading to him receiving lecture from his manager about his health which only added to his fatigue. To top it all off, not only his girlfriend did admit to cheating on him which at the moment he didn't realize that. But Somehow he had hoped and wished that Sana would be there to hug him, to rub his back in comforting motions and shower him with affection like she used to do and support him just like he had been to her since the start of their relationship.
Instead, Sana chose to avoid any sort of physical confrontation with him, only making Jongkook grow anxious about their relationship. The person who was supposed to comfort Jongkook only made him more stressed, as Sana's act reminded him that they weren't on speaking terms for reasons yet to be known.
"I'm tired of chasing you around Jongkook." Sana stared at the male before her with an unwavering gaze, which made Jongkook forget how to breathe.
Sana wanted to be strong, but her quivering lips weren't of much help.
"Im tired of having to pretend I'm alright when I'm not. You ask everyone 'are you okay?' But you never ask me how I am. You never show me affection in public." She continued before Jongkook could find an opportunity to interrupt.
"I'm tired of laughing and smiling when your actions hurt me."
Sana recalled the way Jongkook's oblivious rejections when she tried to hug him and he wouldn't hug back and continued either standing there or talking and how it made her heart clench, before she remembered that the cameras were rolling and a fake smile does the job of hiding the pain.
"I'm tired of having you care about everyone but me, have you help everyone but me. I am not good enough for you?!"
Sana despised the way Jongkook protected and looked after everyone and never expressed himself well. Though she knew that is his personality and that he has trouble expressing himself well, but it would be a lie to say it didn't bother her. After all, the one person she wished would only take care of her but feels the complete opposite when he takes care of other people too.
Upon hearing all this, Jongkook found himself utterly speechless and dumbfounded. He felt his mouth gap wide, but no words were formed and he desperately racked his brain for the right ones. The silence between them reminded him of how terrible he was with words. For Sana, it reminded her of all the tears she shed in pain alone.
"S-Sana," Slowly, almost hesitantly, Jongkook resorted to reaching forward to touch the frail, broken pieces of Sana.
Sana would have given in and buried herself in the older's embrace, if the burning ache in her heart wasn't there to prevent him from doing so. She didn't want to end up with even more pain. With a heavy heart, she stepped backwards and avoided Jongkook's touch once again.
Because above all, silence was the one thing Sana hated the most.
"I'm tired of not being happy."
Ignoring the near desperate pleads Jongkook was silently screaming with his eyes, Sana mustered every last bit of strength and courage left, to slowly utter the words she never thought she would come to say.
"And I'm tired of loving you, when it feels like I'm loving a brick wall. I can't do that anymore Jongkook!"
"Then I'll let you go. Is that want?" Jongkook said causing Sana to look at him.
"What?"
"I'll let you go. So that you can be happy, I don't want to make you feel like you have to stay in this relationship with me if you aren't happy in our relationship anymore. So I'm letting you go. So you can be happy with someone else. Someone who will treat you better than I can."
Jongkook looked at Sana with a weak smile before looked down at the floor biting the inside of his cheeks trying to prevent himself from bursting out in tears in front of his now ex-girlfriend
"I'm sorry I didn't treat you like I should have. I really hope you find someone who will treat you how you should be treated"
And with that Jongkook took one last glance at Sana before leaving the practice room leaving Sana alone and making his way towards the elevator where after the doors closed he broke down uncontrollably for the first time in a while.
