14. Last chapter

"How much do i have to fully recover...i can't seem to move" sasuke asked the doctor.
He and naruto had lost their arms, couple of ribs were broken, his lower half had first degree burn, and they needed medical attention.
"Seem couple of months or so" the doctor said.
"Couple of months...i need to get back to hinata!" Sasuke said.
"Oi, sasuke calm down...soon we will...i am imagining the time i'd be back to ino and hug her, and kiss my little son" naruto said.
Naruto saw how sasuke was distressed.
He clenched his fists.
Its been two months already...two months since they should go back. But they didn't.
Sasuke made sure to send hinata letters.
And he waited, he waited for the replies, but seem no reply came.
Sasuke grew more and more frustrated.
"Don't worry sasuke...we will soon be back" naruto assured.
Sasuke nodded and he laid down, eyes on the ceiling, focusing on hinata's smile that soon he'll see.
Soon enough.

"So, now we luckily blocked the letters from them...we can't afford the enemy knowing they are still alive..." kakashi told yamato marshall.
Yamato looked down.
He knew what hiashi's daughter is going through.
Along with her father.
In the end, sasuke was like a son to him, and his daughter turmoil is unbearable, but it was necessarily to keep sasuke and naruto in the dark.
To protect them against everything.
In the end its a war.
"Good, kakashi...now, we need to capture nagato" yamato said.
"Yes" kakashi nodded.
"Nagato seems to be interested in sasuke's wife...and we need to keep an eye on hinata, maybe she is their next target" yamato said.
"Fine" kakashi sighed.
This mission was harder than they thought.

"Are you going to stay like this my daughter" hiashi asked hinata who was lying still on her bed.
She became more and more frail, and it wasn't working.
She had to eat for the baby's sake.
Hanabi was trying to cheer her up, but yet nothing happens.
Hinata wants sasuke back.
She doesn't believe them.
She won't.
He made her a promise.
Hinata held her little tummy that started to show a little.
Its the only thing that gave her hope.
Hinata needed hope. Her child that was to come to the world with no father, but she shall be strong.
But she can't...not now, she needed to grieve.
She wants to let the pain out until there is no pain.
Hinata needed sasuke back.
He can't die not now, he said he'll die along with her when they grow old and their muscle ache.

Time passed by, and sasuke didn't come back.
Hinata started to go again to her work, she needed to get back on her feet.
Nagato started to get closer to hinata.
She as always tried to push him away.
None shall take sasuke's place no matter what.
But, rumors started to roam around konoha.
Nagato would be hinata's next suitor as she spent more and more time with him.

"Aah...finally, we are back..., the air seems fresh and the scent..." naruto whined.
"Hm" sasuke wanted to keep his cool, but he was on verge of running back to his wife.
His beloved wife.
Scenes kept playing, for the first meeting.
How tight would they hug, the kisses how aggressive and passionate.
Her smile and tears, her warmth and scent.
"Ikuzo...naruto"sasuke said.
"Hai" naruto answered.

"Sasuke, wait, let me grab something to ino" naruto said.
They went for the market to buy chocolates and sasuke brought a bouquet of roses.
As they were paying sasuke and naruto overheard two people speaking.
"Yeah, can't wait for the ball, i guess its for the hyuga hinata's engagement to that red-haired guy."
Sasuke felt the color drain from his face.
The bouquet fell, and naruto watched as his skin grew paler.
"Are you sure, maybe its just a ball"
"Come on, i am sure its her engagement, she lost her husband in a war, and been grieving, but he was there for her, they look so sweet together..." the lady squealed when suddenly sasuke punched the table leaving a dent.
"Hey, whats wrong with you" the owner said.
"Gomenne...matteo sasuke" naruto ran behind sasuke, who was heading to the hyuga household.

"Matteo sasuke matteo...don't you think its not wise" naruto said.
"What do you MEAN" sasuke growled.
"We need to make sure, maybe they are just rumors ne?" Naruto said.
Sasuke was hot headed when it came to hinata.
But he needed to think logically for once.
"Lets go to the ball, none know we are back, they said we are dead, lets go and see for ourselves,
Believe me, i am sure something is going on" naruto said.
Sasuke looked down and decided to concede.
He should go to the ball and see for himself.
