Happy Groundhog Day, guys!! This is my favorite holiday lol. After some thought decided to make it Royality.

Also, as soon as this is posted Valentine's Day voting will be posted, so check that out after you read this! (If you do. Or don't, I don't really care.)

Anyway.. here's the oneshot!

~Roman's POV~

"Hey, Roman!"

I see my friend, Patton, run up to me in the hotel lobby. He wraps his arms around me in a tight hug, and I quickly return it.

"Hey, Pat! How ya doing?"

Today is February 1st- the day before Groundhog Day. Patton and me are staying in a hotel together- separate rooms, but connected since they're right next to each other. We flew up to Pennsylvania for Groundhog Day, because, well.. why not?

"I'm doing great! You?"

The reason we have separate rooms is because all the rooms that weren't sold out only had one bed. But honestly, wouldn't have minded a little sleepover.

"I'm doing great as well." I look around for a clock, and quickly realize it's 10PM. "Oh, shoot. It's late. We should get our room keys and go to bed."

Patton nods. We sign in, get our keys, and before I know it, I'm asleep.

~The Next Morning~

I wake up bright and early, shutting off the alarm clock that was in my hotel room. I quickly get ready, brush my teeth, wake up Patton, yada yada yada, and we're ready to go.

We get to the place where the Groundhog Day thing is being held pretty early, and start walking up to the front so we can get a good look.

We keep walking, and we end up getting pretty close to-

"Ow!"

I turn around as Patton trips over a rock and falls. I let out a small gasp, quickly rushing over to help him up.

"You good, Patton?" I ask as I help him up.

"Yeah, I'm good. Just tripped." He smiles. I brush a little bit of dirt off his face, making myself blush, and we keep walking.

Slowly, more and more people arrive. It's packed. And it's time.

The groundhog comes out.. and..

Doesn't see it's shadow.

Everyone cheers for early spring, and I smile at Patton. He smiles back.

The rest of the day was pretty normal. We walked around town a little bit, ended up making a friend at a cafe, et cetera. The new friend, Virgil, actually asked Patton out to dinner.

That made me a little sad, I couldn't tell if this was supposed to be a date or not. But Patton said yes and didn't seem to think of it as a date, so after some hanging out I ended up going back to my hotel room, slightly melancholy.

I sigh, sitting down on my bed. I lean back and look up at the ceiling.

Definitely not my best Groundhog Day, but hey, at least I got to actually be upfront and centre for the whole ordeal.

"I kinda wish I could re-do this day.." I mumble to myself.

And with that, I went to bed.
