Never underestimate a good Royality™, my dear readers. When you put two very sad yet extremely energetic and also awkward gays together things get wild.

(Lmao this one shot isn't even angsty I just- Roman's insecure and I can't stop bringing it uP—)

"Hey, mom."

"Hey there, Patton, sweetie!"

Patton sat down on his couch with a huff, holding his phone up to his ear and leaning back.

His mom was calling to check up on him... again. She had been calling all the time ever since he went off to college.

"So, how's the law stuff?"

She was proud of him for going into law school.

"Oh, g-great!"

Only... Patton wasn't actually at law school.

He had gotten accepted to a school specializing in law and English, yes. But after also getting accepted into a school for the Arts, he secretly turned down the enrollment into law school and started studying painting and art media and all that other fun stuff.

His mom wanted him to be a lawyer, but he'd much rather be an art teacher.

Was it bad that he was lying to his parents? Probably. But at this point, Patton didn't care anymore. After both his parents forced him into repressing his homosexuality until he got to his junior year of high school, he just wanted to do something for himself for once. And it's not like his parents were sending in cheques of money to pay for school, they expected him to have that all under control, too. He'd break the news to them that he was getting a degree in art after he graduated and moved in with his boyfriend.

But first, he had to actually graduate. And find a boyfriend. That's pretty important.

"I'm so proud that you're following our advice, you know." Patton's mom began to ramble. "Have you found a girlfriend? Thinking about settling down once you're out of college? You should come and visit us sometime!"

Uh... no. No to ALL of that.

"Mom, I'm gay." Patton said, for what felt like the millionth time.

"I know. Excited to see that wife someday!"

Patton sighed, running a hand through his hair. He had to get out of this conversation.

"I don't think I'll be able to visit, mom. I'm really busy. In fact, I should go now, I have a lot of work due tomorrow."

"Oh, alright. I love you!"

...did she? Patton didn't really care if she did or not at this point.

"You too. Bye."

Patton hung up and sighed to himself, staring up at the ceiling. He really needed a break. What normally calmed him down? Showering? Sure.

After sitting still for a few moments he stood up off the couch and made his way to the bathroom. He set a towel on the toilet seat and quickly undressed, turning on the hot shower water and stepping in. He stood still and sighed, letting the water hit his scalp and calm him down.

After zoning out for about five minutes he heard another shower turn on- probably his neighbor's, he was pretty sure their showers were literally right next to each other, only a wall separating them. Patton suddenly remembered that showers were for cleaning yourself and not zoning out in so he quickly pumped some shampoo onto his hand and started washing his hair.
