chapter four

"So, when did you get there?"

Agent McCall was standing in front of a group of five teenagers with Sheriff Stilinski sitting at his desk behind him. Agent McCall's arms were folded in front of his chest with a mildly bothered look on his face as he looked between the teens.

"At the same time" Stiles answered vaguely.

"At the same time as who?" Agent McCall questioned with a frown.

"At the same time as me" Scott informed him.

"By coincidence?" McCall asked with a raised eyebrow as he looked between the boys.

"What do you mean coincidence?" Stiles questioned in feigned confusion.

"That's what I'm asking you" McCall told him, obviously getting irritated with the way that his son and his son's best friend were answering the questions he was asking,
"The two of you arrived at the same time. Was the coincidence?"

A small silence passed between the group as Scott and Stiles exchanged a look before looking back at Agent McCall.

"Are you asking me?" Scott questioned gesturing to himself.

"I think he's asking me" Stiles informed his best friend.

"I think he's asking the both of you" Lydia and Rory spoke at the same time with the same amount of annoyance in their own voices as they looked over at the other best friend duo in the room.

"Okay, let me answer the questions" McCall said causing the teens to fall silent and look up at him, watching in cleverly hidden amusement as the FBI agent let out a sigh through his nose while he realised what he'd said,
"Let me ask the questions"

"Just so I have this absolutely clear" McCall started,
"Barrow was hiding in the chemistry closet at the school. Someone left him a coded message on the blackboard telling him to kill Kira. Then Barrow took Kira to a power substation and toed her up with the intent of electrocuting her, which blacked out the entire town"

"That sounds about right" Rory nodded as she answered for the group.

"How did you know he'd take her to a power substation?" McCall questioned as he narrowed his eyes slightly.

"Well, cause he was an electrical engineer" Stiles said with a nonchalant shrug,
"Where else would he take her?"

"That's one hell of a deduction there, Stiles" McCall informed him half sarcastically.

"What can I say? I take after my pops. He's in law enforcement"

Noah Stilinski let out a snort as his son winked at him, although he quickly covered it up with a cough or two as McCall turned around to look at him,
"Stiles, just - just answer the man"

Rory bit the inside of her cheek before shrugging as she cleared her throat,
"We made a good guess"

"And when did you get there, Aurora?"

"At the same time"

Noah brought his hand up to his mouth to cover a smile while Rory simply started back at McCall with an innocent smile. McCall's jaw clenched at her answer before taking in a deep breath and moving on to look at his son and Kira,
"What were the two of you doing?"

"Eating pizza"

"Eating sushi"

The pair exchanged a look as the rest of the room turned to look at them.

"Eating sushi"

"Eating pizza"

Rory sent Scott a look when he glanced at her, Kira and Scott both took in a deep breath before answering in unison,
"Eating sushi and pizza"
