Rain Cloud

Listening to all these people
Living life as they should
I think to myself
I wonder if I could
Standing on the corner
There's a hooker and a man
He needs to dull the pain
Hoping that she can
Sitting in a cell
There's a man who made a sin
He regrets it so much
Wishing to drown himself in gin
Laying on the bathroom floor
There's a teen with a tear stained face
Her wrists are crying red and a monsters in her head
She wishes she could leave this place
Hiding in the closet
Is a scared little boy
Daddy is drunk
Mommy's his toy
Sitting at a desk
Is one stressed out kid
Her parents are mad
Her grades are getting bad
She just needs a break
Everyone has a story
Mine is no different
Everyone has a rain cloud
That can come at any minute
Why think when you can dream
Why dream when you can do
But it's really hard
When no ones listening to you
Everyone's a stranger
No one really knows the other
Most people don't even know their best friend or their brother
Listening to all these people
Laughing and telling jokes
They don't know each other
But that doesn't seem to be a bother
And I think to myself
Maybe, just maybe,
There is hope.
